The Black Sea Coast region

The aincient Greeks called it Pontius Euxinos, which means'Tthe Hospitable Sea' and that is exactly what it is. It is clean and relatively safe along the shore. At the same time it is very dangerous for navigation far out at sea because of gales. A lot of ruined sailors fates, as well as the dark blue colour of the water gave it todays name Black sea. The summer temperatures are not extremely high , which makes it ideal for having a holiday and doing sports. The beaches are wide and the sand is soft. The content of salt (17.5% on the surface) is half that of the Mediterranean Sea. The average number of sunny days per month is 20 in May and September, and over 25 in July and August. The average daily temperature in summer varies between 25C and 30C, and that of the seawater is between 19C and 26C. The length of the coastal line is 378km and it makes its way through strips of sands, deep bays, forested hills, vineyards and gardens.

Nessebar / Ravda area

The small village of Ravda is situated between the town of Nessebar and the village of Aheloy. Ravda is the preferred place for those looking for a quieter resort from that of Sunny Beach. Ravda benefits from secluded and well maintained beaches. There are numerous cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all needs.

The local town of Nessebar is the oldest town in Europe with monuments and ruins dating back to the medievel ages. This beautiful town is well worth a visit and also benefits from some of the best restaurants in this area. Dining on an evening in Nessebar guests can enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

Bulgaria is now very accessible with regular flights from Bulgarian Air, Whizz Air, British Airways and Balken Air. Flight time from the UK is approximately 3hrs 20mins.

Transfer from the airport is approximately 20 minutes (Bourgas). Transport suggests and contact details can be provided to you upon booking your holiday. The charge for transfer is approximately 45 Levs return.

A car hire facility is available on-site at Fort Riveria.

This is a spacious 4th floor 1 bedroom apartment situated on a 4 star private complex in the village of Ravda, Bulgaria. This is a brand new apartment in a quiet secure 150 apartment complex just yards from the beach.

The Complex is only 25km from Bourgas airport which takes about 15-20 minutes by car, taxi or bus.

Kitchen
Very spacious open plan fully equipped home from home kitchen with cooker, extractor fan, fridge freezer, microwave, all cooking utensils, a toaster, kettle, coffee machine, iron and ironing board. This leads into the dining area and lounge with dining table which would seat 5 people.

Lounge/ Dining area
Fully air conditioned large lounge with TV, CD radio HiFi, sofa bed, Internet connection with desk and office chair just bring a laptop to connect. Views from the lounge are the mountains and sea, it also leads out to the balcony area with a table and chairs. The sun rises onto the balcony for a pleasant breakfast in the morning to start your day.

Bedroom
Air conditioned large bedroom with a double bed, triple wardrobe with full size mirror, chest of drawers and dressing table. Clean bed linen is provided to make your stay comfortable. There is a door that leads onto the balcony from the bedroom. Hairdryer and travel cot are also provided if needed.

Bathroom/ Shower room
Good sized shower room with power shower, toilet, sink unit with lights a mirror and cabinet, tiled from floor to ceiling. Clean towels are provided.

How to get there

Fly to Bourgas Book Bulgaria Air must be booked thtough opodo I find this is the best as flights arrive at a reasonable time in the day all the charters Thompson, Excel and Wizz air budget airline arrive at silly times in middle of night as late as 3am! Plus thease are a similar price not a lot cheaper. Around £130-150 is a reasonable return price from Gatwick. I have not flown outside london but most regional airports fly to Bourgas. From October to April Bourgas is closed at present but you can fly to Varna which is 2 hours away by car.

On arrival at the airpot there are Hertz and Avis rent a car you can book this before your arrival on their websites. If driving to the apartment from the airport: After exiting the airport you arrive at a roundabout take 1st exit left and head north on the E87 travel north continue through Pomorie then through Atheloy, a few kilometers after Atheloy look out on the right for a turning into Ravda take this and continue on this road until you reach centre of Ravda and come to a T junction turn left here then take the first fork right then Riviera apartments is 2 blocks on right you will see a big Fort Noks sign at the enterance.

The apartment has a double aspect of the building with its large terrace with stunning sea & bay views and views and views to the Stara Planina mountain range.

Situated in a quiet & pretty traditional Bulgarian village called Ravda a black sea holiday destination the village has some very good restaurants and bars but is not as busy or noisy as the larger resorts so is ideal for families and couples who want to have a peaceful holiday. Yet it is very close to the big resorts if you wish to get some night life. Just 20mins drive to Bourgas airport, 5 mins drive to Nessebar & 10 mins to the large resorts of Sunny Beach with its bustling night life with many bars clubs and casinos.

Just Fifteen minutes walk from the famous settlement of Nessebar a UNESCO world heritage site with its many restaurants and famous ancient historical ruins.
