Home description
A "Home from Home", comfortable and fully equipped apartment on the 1st floor. Each of the 2 large double bedrooms has a double bed, a ceiling fan and plenty of wardrobe space. One overlooks the pool and gardens and the other looks out to the sea and mountains beyond. The spacious lounge/dining room leads to a south facing balcony which overlooks the community gardens and swimming pool. There is a separate fully fitted kitchen and bathroom.
The apartment is in a quiet location, but close to all amenities on offer. A car is not a requirement unless you wish to venture farther afield. A local "puddle jumper" bus does circular runs around the town. There are many beaches in Nerja. The closest one is Burriana which is a pleasant half mile walk. The centre of Nerja, and the breathtaking views from the Balcon de Europa is about a 15 minute walk.. There are restaurants, shops and bars to suit all tastes. In close proximity to the apartment are several restaurants, bars, a chemist, accident and emergeny centre, supermarket and sports facilities. The area is a golfers haven with three well maintained 18 hole courses close by (Baviera, Anoreta and Los Moriscos). A car would be needed to reach these courses which are all within about a 30 minute drive of the apartment.
Nerja and surrounding area is also a walkers paradise with the Almijara mountains and the national park (which has the famous Caves of Nerja).

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Nerja is ideally located to explore farther afield. There is a local and national coach station close-by from where you can travel to the many picturesque white villages of the area, as well as Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace, Malaga to see the cathedral, Picasso museum and many other sights of historical interest and a days outing along the coast will take you to the duty free haven of Gibraltar. Aqua Velis is the nearby water park at Torre del Mar which can be easily reached by local bus.
Nerja / Almijara area
The caves of Nerja are in the Guinness book of records and a holiday in Nerja, would not be complete without seeing the breathtaking sights within the caves. The local bus runs at regular intervals.
There are many excellent beaches in Nerja all with good facilities of beach bars, showers, water sports etc.
Throughout the year, the Spanish celebrate and enjoy many colourful festivals and fiestas. All with Flamenco, Music and merrymaking! Nerja celebrates all the national festivals as well as a few of its own! January: Three Kings February: Carnival (3 or 4 days of fun) March/April: Semana Santa (Easter Week) May: San Isidro. The colourful farmers procession to nearby Maro. Followed by BBQ's and fun. June: San Juan: Bonfires on the beach at midnight July: various festivals in the villages close-by August: 10 day Feria (festival,fair) in Malaga with dancing, music, fireworks and flamenco. October: Nerja 5 day feria.
How to get there
Fly to Malaga airport and then take a coach or rent a hire car . Coaches run regularly at approximately hourly intervals. If you prefer, a taxi could be arranged for you. Cars can be hired at the airport, but in the busiest months, it is best to book beforehand on the internet where some cheap deals can be found. Try www.malagacarhire.com
Journey time to the apartment is approximately 40/45 minutes. Detailed directions on how to reach the apartment, will be sent upon confirmation of booking.

Further details indoors: No need to bring electrical adapters. There is a Spanish extension lead with an English socket in each bedroom! Whilst linen and towels are provided, you will need to bring your own beach towels. There are sunloungers and chairs stored in a locked cupboard on the balcony of the apartment, which are there for your use. A lockable chest in one of the bedrooms can be used during you stay to lock away your valuables.

There are no steps to climb to reach the apartment. Electric is included in the rental. The cooker and hot water run on bottled gas. Full bottles will be supplied at the start of your holiday. One bottle will on average, supply 2 people for 2 weeks for hot water and cooking. If you need to obtain a refill. these are readily available at a cost of (currently) €uros 10.50 Swimming pool open May to October Owner lives close by and is available if needed.
