About the home

Villa Antonietta is located just 700m from Burriana Beach. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 1500m from the centre of Nerja with its delightful shops & the famous Balcon de Europa, the villa has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants for eating out.

The villa benefits from its own private pool, with a shallow end perfect for the children. The hot tub jacuzzi is always very popular! Leading from the living room is a spacious covered terrace with comfortable sofa & chairs, also furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. With one double and two twin bedroom, the villa is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

The villa has a twin bedroom & shower room on the ground floor & a double & twin bedroom with family bathroom on the first floor. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. The upstairs bedrooms have the benefit of a large balcony terrace with sea & mountain views.
The villa is well equipped with Sat TV (LCD flat screen), DVD, Air conditioning with heating, 'pay as you use' dynamic broadband internet connection etc.

Villa Antonietta is set within a walled garden, with the private swimming pool & terraces facing south. The hot tub jacuzzi is to the side of the villa & there is a BBQ at your disposal. Terrace furniture includes a lounge suite, dining table & chairs plus sun loungers & umbrellas. Parking is close by.

Award winning Burriana beach

The Costa del Sol region

Nearby towns of Frigiliana & Torrox offer the experience of authentic Spanish whitewashed villages. The world famous Caves are located in Maro just 3 km east of Nerja. Baviera Golf Course is within 15 mins drive & the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada, Granada is just 2 hours drive. Ski & dine on the beach on the same day! Walking is very popular in the Sierra de Almijaras.
For those in search of retail therapy, there is a good selection of shops & boutiques in Nerja & large shopping centre at Velez Malaga. Malaga city offers excellent shops & restaurants together with a great insight in to the history of the area. The Cathedral & Bull Ring are well worth a visit.

When visiting this region for the first time, it doesn't take long to understand how it has come to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The narrow strip of land sandwiched between the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range which has come to be known as the Costa del Sol offers a wealth of geographical, historical and cultural attractions. Activities available locally include hiking, golf, tennis, fishing, horseback riding, wildlife sightseeing trips, all manner of watersports and even skiing in the mountains.

The great Arab cities of Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and Malaga contain some of the finest examples of Moorish architecture in Europe and are all day-trips from Nerja. A few miles inland from Nerja, Frigiliana, one of dozens of whitewashed villages that pepper the foothills of the Almijaras, is a beautiful example of a humbler form of Moorish architecture, with its steep narrow streets only passable on foot or donkey.

In more recent times, Catholocism has been a dominant cultural influence in Spain and although the church's influence has decreased over the last 50 years, during Franco's repressive regime, the people used the religious festivals as an opportunity to gather in public in large numbers and party !! These traditions are still very strong today and all the locals come out and participate in the Fiestas. Some of Nerjas most enjoyable festival include Carnival in February, Semana Santa from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, San Isidro Romerio around May 15th when all the people get dressed up and walk/dance to Maro, San Juan around 25th June when bonfires are lit on the beaches, everyone gathers and enjoys a barbecue before going into the water at midnight and in October there is a 6-day fair.

Day trips include Marbella with its famous Puerto Banus marina, and also Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace, as well as the classical city of Seville. Golf can also be enjoyed only 15 mins. drive away at Baviera Golf close to Caleta de Velez and also at Anoreta Golf at Rincon de la Victoria. The Water world is a must for all the family at Torre del Mar.

The Nerja / Burriana area

Nerja!! The jewel of the Costa del Sol. Probably the best climate in Europe!!

Nerja is a coastal town at the foot of the Almijara mountains with a long tradition of fishing and agriculture. The fishermen still pull their nets ashore on Burriana beach and fresh produce can still be bought from the doorways of local people's houses. The weekly market (Tuesdays) attracts many traders and shoppers from all over the region and the town centre has a vibrant, friendly atmosphere with many lovely shops and tapas bars & restaurants.

While Nerja bears no resemblance to the 'high-rise' holiday developments often associated with the Costa del Sol, it is a popular destination for North European and Spanish tourists and offers all the necessary ingredients for a fantastic holiday - good road link to airport (45 minutes), a huge choice of restaurants to suit every budget, bars, cafes, nightclubs, beautiful clean beaches and of course lots of sunshine.

A car is not necessary for a holiday in Nerja as everywhere in town is easily accessible by foot and there are good local bus, taxi and coach services

Nerja is a wonderful contrast between a sleepy fishing village with a fantastic lively atmosphere in the evenings ideal for families, couples and friends. Nerja has five wonderful sandy beaches offering sunbed & parasol hire, watersports, pedaloes, tapas bars and restaurants.

The famous Cuevas de Nerja and the picturesque Frigiliana are only a short distance away. Granada is now just over an hour's drive by car and there are several typical towns and villages within easy reach either in the Alpujarras mountains or closer along the lovely Costa Tropical which is still one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in Europe.

“Great location, shame about the kitchen” Service from C&G immobiliaria was excellent and the check-in was faultless. This is a lovely Villa, TV service great (Slightly weather dependent), lovely neighbours, close to a good supermarket and well laid out. All of the amenities you would expect are there. The bedrooms are a bit smaller than we're used to, but OK. Great balcony with lovely views! The only drawback is the kitchen - strictly one person only or a guaranteed argument ensues! The Hot Tub is excellent, as is the pool. I'd go back to this villa again, no problems. Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay & thank you for your kind words. “Excellent Villa” Villa Antonietta is a well equipped and very comfortable villa. C&G were extremely helpful with a couple of teething problems on arrival, primarily the failure of the cold water pump. Their representative came out to help straight away. The pool at the Villa was a great way to cool down when the sunshine got too much whilst the Jacuzzi was a great way to relax. Inside the Villa was very clean and contained everything needed for a comfortable stay including the air conditioning which was greatly welcomed. The only thing missing from the villa was a safe or safety deposit box but the villa itself was secure and the area safe. The only word of warning is for those who don't hire a car...be prepared for a steep climb back if venturing to Burriana beach or walking back that way after an evening out. Our kids (11 and 13) coped well with the walk and some may say it provides a good way of walking off any extra calories after an evening meal but for anyone who isn't up for a good walk just beware. Overall we had a great fortnight at Villa Anonietta and would definitely recommed it as one of the best Villas we've stayed in. Ian at C&G was very helpful and we would definitely stay here again.
