From the large tourist areas to the small bays the whole coast has transparent waters, beaches with blue flags, modern installations and services, excellent facilities for culture and leisure activities. Nerja / Central near beach areaNerja is approximately 45 mins drive from Malaga airport. It is a popular resort but has retained it's own unique identity. There many bars and restaurants catering for all tastes. The Tuesday market and the Sunday "flea" market are recommended. A visit to the Caves of Nerja is a must, as is Ayo's restaurant on Burriana beach for arguably the best paella in Spain!! The Moorish mountainside village of Frigiliana is a short drive, by car or local bus. A trip to the shopping centre in Velez Malaga is also not to be missed, with an excellent golf course nearby. It is the best we have ever used in Spain. The weather was very kind to us and the time went very quickly.
