Home description

La Exotica is a 4 bed villa on 2 levels set in it’s own walled grounds approx 10 minutes walk from Nerja town, affording easy access to both the town and the beaches whether you choose to walk or drive. The villa was completely refurbished in May 2008. NEW Kitchen, NEW Bathroom, NEW Furniture, NEW Electrics. The garden area is large and allows for space for everyone. The outside barbecue and kitchen area is a fabulous place to eat and entertain with fridges and a hob so that you do not have to miss a minute of the sunshine whilst preparing a bit of lunch. The large covered terrace is a great place to escape the heat of the sun, have a beer or two and perhaps take advantage of the WIFI connection to face book a few friends back home.

This property is ideal for a large family or group of friends, the two levels means that you are all staying at the same place but have the ability for your own privacy. The lower level is ideal for the less mobile or wheelchair user as there are no steps and the large wet room bathroom is on this level.
Freeview satelite tv is fitted to three of the four bedrooms and in the lounge. These are individual systems so that no disputes over what you watch!!
AIRPORT TRANSFERS AVAILABLE AT 110 EUROS FOR UP TO 8 PEOPLE.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The villa was built approximately 20 years ago on what would have been described at the time as campo land. Campo land was the agricultural land and rough goat pasture land around the towns and pueblos that the peasant farmers scraped a living from. As the town of Nerja has expanded over the past 20 years, mainly due to tourism in the area, the outskirts of the town now stretch to the road that leads to villa. The villa is less than 5 minutes by car from the famous Balcon de Europa and a 10 minute walk will take you to the many beaches and coves that are in abundance along the Nerja town coastline.

Nerja is in the province of Andalucia in the Axarquia region and is best described as the western Costa Del Sol. Malaga and its airport are less than 40 minutes away and almost all major airports in the UK fly to Malaga. Traditionally the British turned right on arrival to Malaga and the tourist resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella were the first areas that developed with the explosion of tourism in the late sixties.
The western Costa Del Sol did not receive the same attention, mainly due to the difficulty of transportation, and as such is considered to still be 'real Spain'. The Towns population is approximately 24,000 with 19,000 Spanish residence, English emigrants number approximately 3000 with remainder split evenly between Germans and Scandinavians. The town swells in the summer months to around 45,000 with the majority of visitors coming from the northern cities of Madrid and Valencia and of course the UK.


Nerja / La Exotica area

The town of Nerja is a small, old fishing village that has kept it's old charm, with small narrow streets and many cheap restaurants in the town centre. The area has a very nice climate all year round, which makes it perfect for holidays. It also has much to offer in terms of sight-seeing the famous Nerja caves and the historic village of Frigiliana are only a short drive from burriana.

Burriana Beach itself is only a 15 walk from the centre of Nerja and boasts a wealth of varied bars and restaurants which all welcome children.

Local Buses from Malaga to Nerja cost approximately 4 euro each

We can arrange car hire for you to be collected either at the airport or in Nerja

Directions from Airport via A7 motorway;

o Turn left out of the airport
o Straight over mini-roundabout
o Keep in left hand lane
o Road goes up and bears to the right, gets you on motorway
o Keep on this road and take 2nd turn off for Almeria. Please note that the Almeria sign is just above the turning before, please be careful not to turn off here as you will end up on the one way system in Malaga town.
o Stay on A7 for about 50km
o Turn off at the Nerja Junction
(Approx 45mins from Malaga / 50km)
o As you turn off the road splits into two, bear to the right and turn right
o Head down the hill about 100yds until you get to a mini-roundabout
o Turn left at the mini-roundabout
o Down little hill (20yds)
o Up little hill (50yds)
o Driver past large ‘Exotica’ sign which is on your right
o 1st villa on the right ~ Casa Paradiso, number 22, large green gates.


Directions from Nerja town;

o Head up the Hill towards the motorway / Frigiliana
o Past garage on right
o Straight over 1st mini-roundabout
o At 2nd mini-roundabout turn right
o Down little hill (20yds)
o Up little hill (50yds)

Guestbook for La Exotica

We were really impressed with the villa, the furnishings and standard of the kitchen was fantastic!!

The walk to the town was really easy but we tended to get a taxi back after we had been out for the evening (cost 8 euros)

The size of the garden and the terraces meant that even with a group of 8 we were all able to find a quiet place if we wanted to.

Great barbeque and outside kitchen area.
