The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The lakes close to Velez Malaga and the mountain village of Competa are a short scenic drive. Grenada is about one and a half hours drive, through the stunning Sierra Nevada Mountains, where you can visit the Alhambra Palace, you can also ski here in winter. Marbella, Puearto Banus and the lovely mountain villages of Mijas can be found to the west of Malaga.
The Cosmopolitan city of Malaga has lots of places of interest including the Renaissance Catherdral La Alcazaba Fortress and the Picasso museum. Malaga also has some amazing restaurants and fabulous shopping. Further afield you will find Seville, Ronda, Cordoba and Gibraltar.
Nerja / Oasis de Capistrano area
The town of Nerja is a 25 minute stroll from the apartment and you can also walk or take a car ride to Burriana Beach. There is also a bus service from the entrance of the complex which goes into town.
This charming Spanish coastal town with a backdrop of stunning mountains will delight you, from its beaches, and its narrow streets with their array of shops bars and restaurants, to the Balcon de Europa , with its spectacular views of the surrounding coastline where you can just stroll or have a drink or a meal and watch the world go by . If you are looking for bargains there are several markets in the nearby towns. Nerja has its own large street market on a Tuesday and an interesting flea market on a Sunday.
Less that a 5 minute drive away near the lovely village of Maro are the caves of Nerja. They are well worth a visit and on occasions concerts are held there.
The beautiful, typically Spanish, mountain village of Frigiliana is approximately a 15 minute drive inland. Here you will find shops, bars and restaurants, many with fabulous views and there is also a market on Thursdays.
For those who like golf, there are several courses nearby, the closest a mere 15 minutes drive.

Further details indoors: Private entrance to a homely twin bedroomed apartment, sleeps up to 4, including a double sofa bed in the lounge, which is also fully equipped with cable television and Hi Fi unit (with MP3 connectivity, cd player and radio) . The Lounge/diner has views to the sea and leads to the large L shaped terrace for outdoor living. The main entrance opens into the hallway, leading to the lounge/diner and a separate fitted kitchen and bathroom.
Electricity and weekly linen change are included in the rental cost. Please bring your own towels for the pool. The complex has a security patrol.
Further details outdoors: The large L shaped terrace is south facing, includes a covered dining area with barbecue and has wonderful views of the gardens and their beautiful palm trees to the sea. To the east you can look across the gardens to the aquaduct with its beautiful arches and mountains beyond, so it is a great place to sit and relax on the sunloungers supplied.
Within the grounds there are two swimming pools plus a children's pool. At the main pool during the high season a lifeguard is in attendance. There are also 2 restaurants, one with poolside bar and large gardens to explore. The town is a 25 minute stroll, there is a bus stop at the entrance to the complex. The beach is a 20 minute walk approximately, or just a few minutes by car.
