For day time fun Banana boats , Para Gliding , Pedal Boats Scuba Diving, and horse riding are all available locally.For the truly energetic the back drop of the local mountains and the Sierra Nevada offer hiking and winter skiing.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Cost Del Sol enjoys all year round sunshine. The City of Malaga which you pass on the way to Nerja has a thriving port and is the home of the Pablo Picasso Museum.As you drive towards Nerja on you left the majestic Alpujarra mountain rise steeply and behind them the Sierra Nevada hide a jewel of Spain ,Granada and the Alhambra.Take the time out to see Moorish Castle and gournds which still has many of its original features in tact. Nerla can also be used as a base to go skiing in the Sierra Nevada from December though to April. Ski in the morning, lie on the beach in the afternoon!
Nerja / Ladera del Mar area
Directly in front of Ladera Del Mar an outcrop of rock which divides 2 beaches is a popular fishing spot with the locals. Snorkelling is also popular here as smaller fish seek refuge among the outcrops of rock.The nearby beach of Playazola has many beach restaurants serving delicious seafood and barbecued meat and fish. During the June Festival of San Juan the beach is a centre of the festivities.
