The apartment is in an excellent location, in the Nerja town centre on the beachfront avenue with easy access to Torrecilla and Playazo beach. The apartment overlooks private tropical gardens and swimming pool and has views of the sea and is protected from street noise.This part of the town is especially convenient as there are no steep hills to climb or long distances to walk in order to get into town and the shops with practically everything being close at hand.
It is perfect for families, couples and retired persons who want the convenience of being right next to the beach and also within a stone’s throw of the shops, restaurants and cafes. For added convenience, there is even a newsagents downstairs, perfect for popping down for your morning paper. The building has wheelchair access, two lifts and a resident hall porter.
The apartment comprises 2 double bedrooms; 1 double with en suite bathroom and 1 twin with separate bathroom, and a very comfortable sitting/dining room with adjoining kitchen which is fully equipped.

The apartment is very well equipped and comfortably furnished. Duvets and electric heating provided for winter lets. Timed heating is included in the cost, but for 24 hour heating, a charge of 30 euros/week is applied. Bedroom windows are hermetic and double glazed. All rooms have ceiling fans. Bed linen and bath towels provided. Terrace equipped with table and chairs for outdoor relaxing and/or al fresco dining.
This spacious apartment will sleep 4 people in comfort but an additional person can be accommodated on a z-bed. Baby cot also available free of charge, highchair and other similar requirements are charged for..
Kitchen equipment also includes gas oven/cooker, electric hand-held food mixer, coffee percolator, electric coffee maker, crockery and serving dishes, general cooking equipment/utensils, cutlery, table and kitchen linen.
A utility cupboard in the hall neatly stores the iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, bucket and mop, broom and dustpan, etc..
Beach equipment is provided: beach mats, umbrella, fold-up chairs and a beach bag full of beach toys and games.
**I also provide a local map, regional and national guide books (Rough Guide to Andalucia, Lonely Planet: Spain and Portugal), books on local excursions and walks in the sierra and language and phrase books for use during your stay**
Large roof terrace for taking in the views, however sunbathing not allowed.
*Please note that improvements to the living room furniture have been made. There is now a much larger and very much more comfortable three-seater sofa plus two painted, mahogany armchairs.
Further details outdoors:
Pool available from 15 June - 15 September and has a trained lifeguard on duty at all times. The pool has a shallow end with a ramp for easy access for children, the elderly and the disabled.
Hall porter lives on site.
All entrances and exits from the street to the apartment facilitate wheelchair access.

Conditions
The requirement for making a reservation is a deposit of 20% of the total rent. Upon arrival to Nerja, the total amount outstanding is to be paid in cash (euros) including refundable breakages deposit of 150 euros or 130 pounds.
Check-in/departure time is 17,00/10,00 respectively, although these times are flexible depending on both your (flight times) and owner's circumstances (previous client's departure time).

The Costa del Sol region


Nerja is on the seashore some 50 kilometres from Malaga on the Mediterranean motorway, and marks the eastern tip of Malaga's Costa del Sol. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 12,000. Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.
Flanked by a dramatic mountain range, Sierra Almijara, to the east, the town has, fortunately, managed to avoid being blighted by the concrete high-rise scenario which has been the inevitable result of the tourist boom in some of the coastal resorts.
The Nerja / Torrecilla Beach area
The apartment is particularly suitable for disabled persons as one of the bathrooms has been recently reformed and prepared for disabled users. It is also suitable for families and elderly people as the Torrecilla area is relatively flat which makes walking around very easy and access to the beach is gentle. There is a lovely promenade along the beachfront which is perfect for leisurely walks and a play area for children in the plaza leading to the promenade. There are 2 late-opening supermarkets in the area as well as many restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs, most with terraces for enjoying the sunshine while you sip that leisurely glass of wine. The famous Balcon de Europa and the old village with its narrow winding streets and international shopping are also within an easy stroll.
The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums, on which a canary can sometimes be heard singing...
However, the heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcon de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle, with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes here to choose from, and the visitor can hire a horse-drawn carriage to explore the most romantic corner of the town.

GETTING TO NERJA:
Once you arrive at Malaga airport, you will need to continue your onward journey to Nerja. Nerja is approximately 60 kilometres east up the Costa del Sol from Malaga airport. If you choose to hire a car, it will take you approximately 35-40 minutes to get from Malaga to Nerja taking the motorway along the coast. Get off the motorway at Exit 292 for Nerja/Frigiliana and follow the directions for Nerja. Upon making your booking, you will be provided with a detailed map and explanation of how to get to the apartment!
If you do not plan on hiring a car, you have the following options for your onward journey:
OPTION 1: **Personalised airport pick-up is offered by the owner, stress-free for you and with a fearsomely friendly and charming English speaking driver!** Please enquire!
OPTION 2: Take a taxi from the airport directly to the accommodation. The cost is per single trip. The cheapest way of doing this is by pre-booking a taxi which costs approximately 70-75 euros. Getting into a taxi stationed on the rank at the airport could cost anywhere from 80-90 euros, and if you arrive on an evening or night flight, this price goes up even more.
OPTION 3: Very frequent and reliable coach service between MALAGA CITY CENTRE and Nerja. However, as the airport is about 14 kms from the city centre, one must first get from the airport to Malaga city centre using the inter-urban bus, taxi or train. The buses leave every half hour from a bus stop right outside the arrivals hall and costs approximately 1 euro and will drop you off right in the bus depot where you can get the coach to Nerja. I think taxis charge approximately 15 euros for the same trip from the airport to Malaga city centre, and the train leaves every half hour on the hour, with a journey time of 12 minutes and costs 1,35. The train station is right next to the coach station in Malaga. The coach costs approx. 4 euros and a taxi costs approx 75 euros. There is no train service to Nerja.

Our stay at the apartment was really enjoyable and comfortable. Its location was perfect with all amenities nearby including a small supermarket that opens on a Sunday (Jamaica), very handy. It was only a short walk to the old town if we wanted to, though there were plenty of places to dine near to the apartment and the beach was only two minutes away. Javier, the owner of the property, was very helpful and was only a phone call away if he was needed. In fact, we were there when there were problems with flights due to the ash cloud and Javier spent the day before we had to fly back phoning the airlines for us, trying to find out what was going on, something he did not have to do but offered to do anyway. I stayed with three golfing friends for five days in Mid-September. The service provided by Javier was second to none. He answered all my many e mails promptly and clearly. He did everything he promised to do including the provision of a fold-up Z bed and was available at the end of a mobile if required. We didn't need to contact him as everything was as described. Although the property is not new (perhaps 30-40 years old) it is clean, tidy and very well equipped with everything you need for a good holiday. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is a real bonus. The apartment is ideally situated for the beach, shops, bars etc and is only a 5-10 minnute walk to the Balcon ( centre of Nerja). The only downside is parking which can be difficult, particularly, I imagine, in high season. There is limited parking on site. |

The owner has thought of absolutely everything, all the equipment, cutlery, crockery and the bedding, is new and the apartment is spotless. The apartment is a mere 2 minute walk to the beach and is situated very close to excellent eateries and supermarkets. No hesitation in recommending this apartment whatsoever.

We spent a fortnight in the apartment which is superbly located near to the Torrecilla beach and only ten minutes walk to the Balcón de Europa. It is a spacious, comfortable, clean and well furnished apartment. It has everything one would need. We were very pleased with the kind and warm reception by the owner who always attended to all of our infrequent requests quickly. We would unreservedly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a nice lodging. We had a very nice time and we are looking forward to going back.
