This quality two-bedroom, two-bathroom ground floor apartment is located in the prestigious Las Fuentes ('Fountains') de Nerja complex in the heart of Nerja, front-line to the coast and with its own private swimming pool. From the apartment's pretty arched south-facing terrace framed with bougainvillea, there are wonderful views of the sparkling blue Mediterranean, the delightful private gardens, the row of fountains down to the sea and the impressive swimming pool. This large communal pool is for the exclusive use of guests and has wide-stepped access for safety.

This delightful development is seconds from the beautiful Torrecilla beach, ideal for all ages with safe swimming, a play area for children, sunbeds for rent, and sweeping views of the bay.
The famous palm-fringed Balcon de Europa with its spectacular sea and mountain panorama, including Morocco on a clear day, is only five minutes' stroll from the apartment through the charming old town.

Parking is available on the street outside the development though shops, restaurants, Spanish 'tapas' bars and all amenities are so close that it is not really necessary to hire a car unless you want to travel outside Nerja.

Holiday magazine as the best coastal holiday destination in Spain, the pretty fishing village of Nerja (from the Moorish word 'naricha' meaning 'rich in water') has retained its traditional Andalucian character of narrow winding streets, white-washed houses and red tiled roofs, unspoilt by high rise development.

Protected and sheltered by the surrounding horseshoe-shape Sierra Almijara mountains, it enjoys a sub-tropical micro-climate, claiming the best all-year round weather in Europe. Nerja has a relaxed atmosphere with a more informal feel than the neon and glitz of its counterparts to the west of Malaga.

The Nerja / Torrecilla Beach area

The Nerja Caves, are one of Spain's biggest tourist attractions, are well worth a visit. An extensive network of fascinating underground caverns with the World's biggest stalactites, plus an auditorium and stage where the annual music and arts festival takes place. Nearby is Maro, a picturesque village with panoramic views across the sea and a small, secluded beach invisible from the cliff top.

The mountains shelter many small attractive villages, notably Frigiliana with its restored Roman town and narrow vehicle-free cobbled streets. Further afield is the historic city of Grenada with its famous Alhambra Palace (pre-booking advised). Malaga and beyond to Puerto Banus also provide a great day out, as do visits to Mijas, Antequara and the El Torcal National Park.
