Our lovely garden apartment, situated on the beautifully maintained private development of CAPISTRANO VILLAGE, is well situated in a quiet position. This delightful, self-catering property has a comfortable lounge and fully-equipped kitchen with dining area. Patio doors lead from the lounge onto the south-facing terrace and garden. The garden, which benefits from all-day sun, is equipped with garden furniture and sun loungers. The good sized bedroom has a double bed, single bed, wardrobe and bedside tables. There is also room for a cot which can be provided on request. There is a shower room with shower, washbasin and toilet. Apart from two steps into the apartment, the property is all on the level, has independent access and convenient on-road parking thus making it ideal for couples, children of all ages and for the elderly. The property has just been newly refurbished throughout. There is air conditioning for cooling in the summer and heating in the winter.

The property has everything you could want for your perfect holiday. The lounge and dining areas have seating for three people and are both well-equipped There is a flat screen satellite TV. We provide folders and booklets containing information on all the places of interest for you to visit in the surrounding area. The property has fans for the summer and heaters for the winter months. The fully-equipped kitchen has a modern ceramic hob and oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dish washer, microwave, toaster, ironing facilities and all the equipment you would need for everyday living. For the benefit of all our guests we request that our clients do not smoke inside the property.

Capistrano Village has its own swimming pools which are open all year and are just a few minutes stroll away from the property. These are private pools which are for the exclusive use of Capistrano Village owners and their guests. A pool guard oversees the security of the pool area. The complex also has a security guard patrol. Our cleaning staff make sure that everything is perfect for your arrival and bed linen and towels are provided. Please remember to bring your own beach towels.

The Andalucia region

The property, ideal for couples or small families, is just a five minute drive from the centre of Nerja and the Balcon de Europa or from Burriana Beach with its many bars and seafood restaurants. Set between the magnificent backdrop of the Almijara mountains and the Mediterranean coastline, this delightful property is the garden apartment of a pueblo style villa and is just a couple of minutes stroll to the Community's attractive swimming pool, restaurant and well-stocked small supermarket. There are a number of good restaurants close by catering for all tastes. There are tennis courts just five minutes walk away from the property and adjacent to the courts is a larger supermarket. The local Nerja bus stops at the top of the road and has a regular service into town, thus making it ideal for families without a car. Trips can also be taken west to Torre del Mar and Malaga, east to Almunecar and Almeria, and inland to Granada, Cordoba and Seville. The lively old Andalucian town of Nerja is 50km east of Malaga and just 45 minutes by motorway from the international airport. During the day there are breathtaking views of the coast from the palm-lined Balcon de Europa, an elegant promenade jutting out on a cliff and situated in the centre of the old town.


Nerja, bustling by day and by night, has all the facilities of a modern resort, charming but lively with its twisting alleyways, lined with family owned shops and excellent variety of restaurants. Nerja has several popular beaches with lively bars and restaurants whilst others are quieter and more secluded with rock pools in which to explore marine life. The atmosphere in Nerja is that of time having stood still. Some of its streets are still cobbled and, in the surrounding countryside, you can see teams of oxen ploughing the fields. At the same time Nerja has all the facilities of a modern resort. Nerja is, of course, a paradise for water sports; swimming, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, water-skiing and fishing are all available. Nerja boasts many small coves between the Balcon de Europa and the very popular Burriana beach where one can indulge oneself in the famous paella dish. See it being cooked over the beach fire at Ayo‘s restaurant, one of our favourite places to eat. For walkers there are many way-marked walks taking you along the coast or inland.

The surrounding countryside is filled with whitewashed, sleepy Andalusian villages and orchards scented with ripening oranges and lemons. Frigiliana, a 15 minutes drive from Nerja, is one of Andalusia’s most picturesque hill top villages. From here there are wonderful views over the surrounding valleys and out to the coast. The world famous Nerja caves are natural archaeological caves containing the world’s largest column. Each year it hosts the International Music Week and the Festival of Dance and Music. Inland, Lake Vinuela is well worth a trip to see this beautiful blue lagoon surrounded by the mountains. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are just over an hour’s drive away and the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada just 20 minutes from there. Take the scenic coast road east to Marina del Este, a bustling little port and then on to Almunecar whose Friday market is very popular. West from Nerja is Torre del Mar, a busy seaside town with a vast beach and elegant promenade.

Golf info - To the east, just half an hour away, there is a 9-hole course in Salobrena and 20 minutes west, just off the motorwar, is a course at Baviera Golf.

Ski details - The massive and beautiful Sierra Nevada lines Granada’s horizon to the south and is often snow capped , even in summer. Wonderful skiing in the winter months around the popular Solynieve mountain resort on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada. A good road takes you to Granada and from here the Sierra Nevada is well signed. A road , which winds through an arid mountainous landscape before it climbs to an altitude of 3398m, a feat which has earned it the name of the highest road in Europe, brings you to the Pico de Veleta where you can take in the breathtaking views. Built for the 1992 Winter Olympics, this is a very popular venue for skiing lovers.

"Brilliantly equipped and spacious apartment"

We booked only two weeks before departure. Judy and Richard were very prompt in replying to us and gave clear instructions regarding payment, location of apartment, etc, so everything went well.

This was certainly the best equipped holiday rental we have stayed in and it was spacious and very comfortable. The shower room is a bit of a tight fit and a corner shelf would be a help, so you don't have to reach outside the shower curtain to get the shampoo, etc, which means the floor gets soaked. The washing machine and dishwasher are bonuses, and the large fridge/freezer is wonderful for stocking up.

The best part of the apartment is the garden, which is walled and was full of colour. The garden gets the sun all day, so you can start the day on the terrace for breakfast and lunch (wind-down canopy is invaluable when it is hot) and end the day at the barbecue seating at the bottom of the garden catching the last of the sun.

A only problem we did have was that arriving on a late Saturday flight after all supermarkets had closed, it was inconvenient to find that the El Capistrano supermarket shuts on Sunday. The only supermarket open on Sunday is at Burriana beach, a car drive away.

We have been to Nerja before and love the town. This apartment is great and we can recommend it for either a totally relaxing break, or as a base for touring the area.
