This is a wonderfully private holiday home with its own flower-filled garden, lovely sea views, large sunny terrace and three gorgeous swimming pools to choose from. It is perfect for those who like to be close to all amenities, but who also appreciate space and tranquility. Oh, and you can pick oranges for breakfast from your very own tree! (In season, of course...)
As of May 2015, there is also free Wifi available at the property, making it easier to keep in touch with family and friends during your stay.
Our well-appointed home-from-home is in the most tranquil corner of the beautiful and well-established Oasis de Capistrano on the leafy eastern edge of Nerja over-looking the sea. The award-winning Oasis has acres of glorious sub-tropical gardens with three private pools to choose from (one especially designed for children), a charming carp pond to visit and plentiful parking. There is a most attractive and welcoming bar area by the largest pool (in season) and another bar and restaurant at the entrance to the complex (open all year) that offers free WiFi as well as good food. Comfortable sun beds are available for use in the grounds and the complex has 24 hour security as well as a full-time maintenance team keeping everything shipshape.
Burriana 'Blue Flag' beach with its many water sports and activities is a pleasant country stroll away and even the famous Nerja Caves are within walking distance, as are all the many facilities and attractions of Nerja town itself. However, there is an inexpensive and convenient hourly bus service to both the local beaches and the pretty town centre if you'd rather not walk in the Spanish heat.
A popular Tennis Club is very close by as is the Hotel Los Arcos which also offers free Wi-Fi as well as regular evening entertainment and a daily “Happy Hour” (well, happy TWO or even THREE hours!). Along from the Hotel you'll find a substantial supermarket offering everything you might need for your stay including delicious fresh bread (the muesli “tea cakes” are especially good).
You'll find a Welcome Pack on arrival with such basics as bread, butter, jam, milk, sugar, tea, coffee, biscuits, fruit, water and a bottle of wine and the kitchen comes stocked with things like seasonings, oils, vinegars, etc, but if you would like us to do a more comprehensive shop for you (if you're arriving late, for instance, or on a Sunday or holiday), then we can offer this service also. We can supply you with a list before you travel and you can simply tick off the items you would like us to buy and they'll be waiting when you arrive (there is a €10 charge for the shopping service).
Your hosts live in a nearby village and if you'd like some advice during your stay then we're close enough to help out in a crisis, but not so close as to impinge on the privacy of your holiday in any way.

As well as two bright double bedrooms and a very comfortable living area with fully equipped kitchen, the property benefits from both a full bathroom with bath and shower and a handy additional washroom with toilet and basin.
All rooms have fans for cooling in summer and heaters for warmth in winter and there are duvets and additional blankets for added coziness if required during the cooler months. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and chests of drawers and there is a safe hidden in the main bedroom. There are also four beach towels for guests to use in addition to the full quota of bathroom towels.
A travel cot, a portable "high chair" and some other useful items are available for little ones and a wheeled shopping bag, a cool bag, four beach umbrellas and four portable beach/picnic chairs are supplied for excursions.
Board games and cards as well as books and DVDs can be found in the cupboard in the living room and there is an audio dock if you would like to bring your own music on your ipod or mp3 player. You will also find a number of plug-in adaptors for any UK or Irish electrical devices you might want bring with you and a universal charger if you happen to forget the charger for your camera or phone.
As of May 2015, we are delighted to announce that there is WiFi available at the apartment. There is also free WiFi available at Bar “Las Fuentes” on the Oasis de Capistrano site and there is an internet café with open WiFi at the nearby Hotel “Los Arcos”.
You'll find a folder on arrival with information on the local beaches, shops and restaurants as well as places you might like to visit and things you might like to do. This folder also contains contact details for the emergency services should you ever need them.
|Further details outdoors|
There are private recliners and sun-bed supplied for use in our private garden and the sunny but sheltered terrace has a built-in fireplace with BBQ and a large dining table (with parasol for shade if required) with comfortable seating for six - the perfect place to while away warm Spanish evenings with family or friends.
In addition to the three attractive pool areas, the Oasis grounds offer plenty of safe areas for children to play (of course, our property has its own secure garden too) and the many trees offer plenty of opportunity for young families to shelter from the sun at the hottest times of the day. There are cute squirrels to spot scampering up the palms and the Oasis has some beautiful fish ponds stocked with all manner of colourful koi that children find endlessly fascinating (adults should always accompany small children when visiting the koi ponds).
We supply beach towels, a cool bag, four portable sun umbrellas and four portable chairs for beach trips and adventures.
There is a pool table and table top football in the main pool area for older children to enjoy.
There is currently an "honesty box" system in use on the Oasis grounds for the hire of sun-loungers. When you take sun-loungers from the store, please pop a couple of euros in the box! You can, of course, also take the free portable beach chairs provided in the apartment to any location in the grounds if you wish.
We must point out that the beautiful grounds of Oasis de Capistrano are set into a verdant hillside with many sloping paths and quite a number of steps and so sadly this location is not suitable for those who may have restricted mobility or who may find walking in any way challenging.
The Andalucia region
As the birthplace of flamenco and tapas with an unrivalled diversity of experiences on offer, Andalusia is quite rightly one of Spain's most popular regions. With the beautiful beach resorts of the Costa del Sol, the enticing cities of Cordoba, Granada and Seville and some grand monuments to visit, you will never be short of things to see and do here - you can even go skiing during the winter months!
Visitors to the Costa del Sol are spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding what to see and do. All manner of water sports are available and golf and tennis are hugely popular in this part of Spain. Formerly a Moorish stronghold, Andalucía is a region steeped in history and boasts a rich heritage and if you are interested in history and or in architecture then look no further than the spectacular red fortress of the Alhambra in Granada. Equally impressive is Cordoba's Mezquita, a huge former-mosque of sparkling, mosaic-decorated arches. Even nearby Malaga has many hidden gems and is well worth a visit, especially if you're interested in art as the city now boasts two major museums, one devoted to Malaga native, Pablo Picasso, and one to Spanish art in general.
Spain is rightly famous for its seaside holidays and the Costa del Sol is home to some excellent resorts, including beautiful Nerja, where the beaches are well serviced and well kept. Add to this the possibility of day trips into the Sierra Nevada mountain range, cultural (and shopping!) visits to the vibrant cities or even boat rides across the sea to exotic Morocco and the activities are literally boundless.
And for lovers of good food, this coast has some of the finest seafood in the world as well as an endless supply of gorgeous fruit and vegetables. Restaurant standards are high, but prices are still relatively low. Buen aproveche!
Nerja is a well established and characterful holiday destination. In addition to its 13 km of beautiful beaches, there is plenty for tourists to see and do here, including visiting the world famous Nerja caves that host a spectacular festival of music and dance each summer. And of course all the well-known attractions of the rest of the Costa del Sol are on your doorstep.
The Balcon de Europa is a spacious, palm-lined promenade offering exceptional views of the coast, while El Salvador Church is a beautiful and much-loved centrepiece to the town. The Rio Chillar river walk is dramatic and exciting and the nearby foothills of the Sierra de Almijara offer great hiking routes. For those who like nature, the wonders of the Natural Park with its abundant wildlife, fascinating plants and soaring mountains are virtually on your doorstep.
Every Tuesday there's a local market that's full of colour - and colourful characters! You can buy jewellery, leather, pottery and all manner of local crafts. And, as mentioned, all the major cultural sites of Andalucia, such as Seville, Cordoba and the glory that is Granada, are within a few hours' drive on excellent roads or you might prefer to join an organised tour from Nerja (just contact the Tourist Office - details are in the apartment).
Take a break and try a spot of people watching in Plaza Cavana, or take a ride in a romantic horse drawn carriage. The kids will love feeding the donkeys and other animals at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary.
As well as being the perfect spot for sunbathing and relaxing, Nerja is a really lovely place just to wander about in, browsing in the many delightful and unusual shops and stopping off for a delicious fresh tapa and a cool refreshing drink along the way.
While rarely loud or brash, Nerja offers much in the way of entertainment and hardly a month goes by without some form of feria or fiesta. The local Tourist Office can keep you informed about everything that's going on and the friendly locals love it when visitors join in!
The Oasis de Capistrano itself is a very special place. With its traditionally styled whitewashed buildings tucked away amongst lush vegetation and spectacular gardens, this truly is an oasis of peace and calm on the often busy Costa del Sol. Relaxed and very friendly, the Oasis offers the best of all worlds: proximity to everything including the very best beaches and gorgeous surroundings with plenty of space and security.

We were made very welcome in this pleasant apartment even though it was for a short stay.It has everything one needs for a comfortable self catering holiday providing lovely towels and bedding and is so generous with those little extras . Oasis de Capistrano is a beautiful development and this apartment was at the bottom end near the childrens pool . Thank you Margot for your warm welcome.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and that the property suited your needs. We hope you might get a chance to stay again - and maybe for a little longer next time!

"Best apartment that we have stayed in - ever!!!!"
From the start we had good contact with the owners Margot and Bryan - they couldn't have been more helpful. The booking went through easily and we felt confident that our requests were being met. Margot organised transfers to and from the airport and even booked a table for the evening at a fabulous restaurant. The owners organised a welcome meal including a nicely chilled Rose wine - and also Easter Eggs!! Imagine! The apartment was absolutely spotlessly clean, the bed linen was beautiful and the beds really comfy. Everything had been considered to ensure our stay was a happy one, there was really nothing more we could have asked for to make the holiday more enjoyable. With huge thanks to you both - you really spoiled us. Very best wishes Shirley, Geoff, Barbara and Martin.
Thank you very much for such a generous review! We're so pleased you all enjoyed your stay and that your holiday was a happy one. We're very fond of Our Oasis in Sunny Nerja and it's really nice to find that other people like it too. It was lovely to meet you all and hopefully we'll meet again sometime. Muchas gracias!
