Casa la BuenaVida is our much loved family villa built by a local Spanish builder in 2002. Initially the builder wanted the home for himself and his family but about half way through the building work, we came across it, saw the wonderful location, fell in love with it and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Today, we are very good friends with the builder who we think must have regretted his decision because now he has become one of our neighbours!
Our hillside is dotted with some very impressive, exclusive properties but although many have fine views, none compare to the stunning 360 degree vistas of Casa la BuenaVida.
Breathtaking views, alfresco dining, brilliant BBQ's, gorgeous swimming pool, romantic moonlit skies, invigorating sunrises, red glowing sunsets. The perfect place to relax - the perfect place for families, for weddings, for small groups, for large groups, for sharing with friends........
......... and when you can steal yourself away, the shops, bars, beaches and restaurants of Nerja are a picturesque ten to fifteen minute drive away.

Occupying an exclusive elevated position in the Punta Lara hills, Casa La BuenaVida enjoys a spectacular and tranquil location and is accessed by driving up and along a scenic mountain road.
Conditions
Rentals are per week and in peak season willl commence on a Saturday or Sunday.
A non refundable deposit of 20% is payable at time of booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before departure.
A refundable £100 breakage deposit is required at final balance stage. This is usually refunded within 10 days of the end of the holiday.
Payments are accepted via electronic bank transfer or cheque.
The maximum occupancy must not exceed ten, unless prior permission is given.

The Costa del Sol region
Located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, in the westernmost Mediterranean area, the Costa del Sol spans 161 kilometres of coastline in Málaga Province, and it seamlessly goes into the neighbouring provinces of Granada and Cádiz.
The capital, Málaga City, is in right in the centre, being the hub of the communication network and dividing the Costa del Sol into two big areas: the east and the west.
Going eastwards from Málaga City, you will come to Rincón de la Victoria (12 kilometres), where many Malagueños have their weekend homes; Vélez-Málaga and its coastal district, Torre del Mar (35 kilometres), which attracts mostly visitors from Spain; Torrox (46 kilometres), where many Germans have chosen the Costa del Sol for their second homes; and Nerja (50 kilometres), the most popular municipality in the region.
The Western Costa del Sol is the more cosmopolitan. Its municipalities are Torremolinos (15 kilometres from Málaga City), Fuengirola (27 kilometres), Mijas (31 kilometres), Marbella (58 kilometres), Estepona (85 kilometres), and Manilva (97 kilometres).
All these towns, from Nerja to Manilva, are connected by the Mediterranean highway and the AP-7 tollway from Fuengirola to Cádiz.
The Nerja / Punta Lara area
Nerja is on the seashore some 50 kilometres from Malaga on the N340 coastal highway, and marks the eastern tip of Malaga's Costa del Sol. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 12,000. Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with shingly sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.
Flanked by a dramatic mountain range, Sierra Almijara, to the east, the town has fortunately managed to avoid being blighted by the concrete high-rise developments which have been the inevitable result of the tourist boom in some coastal resorts. The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow winding streets, horse drawn carriages, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums and other exotic plants.
At the heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle, with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes here to choose from, and the visitor can hire a horse-drawn carriage to explore the most romantic corner of the town.
The town's monuments include the 17th century Church of El Salvador, in a style which is a charming mixture of baroque and Moorish, or mudéjar, and the beautiful Gardens of Capistrano Playa, which descend to Burriana Beach.
However, Nerja's most spectacular attraction is undoubtedly its fascinating caves, located just three kilometres from the centre of town. They include archaeological treasures such as paintings over 20,000 years old and other pre-historic remains. One of the enormous natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer.

Car pick up is easy and within the airport. Follow the signs after picking up baggage.
When you have collected your car, proceed to car park exit "salida" and head for the N340 motorway heading towards Malaga. Follow signs for Motril and Almeria. The motorway will take you past Velez Malaga and Torrox. After approximately 40 minutes you will leave the motorway signposted to Nerja and Frigiliana. At the roundabout, turn right towards the town of Nerja. A detailed map will be provided with instructions for key pick-up and detailed route to Casa La Buena Vida.

We have just returned from an early season visit. The villa is maintained and fitted out to a very high standard. It is set in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle and offers panoramic views towards the coast and across the surrounding countryside. It was a real treat to wake up in the morning, open the blinds, see the stunningly blue sky and listen to the birds singing. This is a great villa for a private and secluded holiday and has facilities for the entire family. In addition to the sunny pool area, there is a large shaded veranda, so you can always get away from the sun, the pool table would be a hit with our grown up children {although they didn't come with us this time}. The journey up the last hill to the villa is admittedly steep, however, the roadside is lined with beautiful wild flowers giving a feel of being in the real Spanish countryside. The resort town of Nerja is not far and has everything you could need, bars, restaurants, shops etc . Also fairly close is the lovely hillside town of Frigiliana, very Spanish and one of the places visible within the panoramic views from the villa. In a nutshell we had a fabulously relaxing break and would have no hesitation in making a return visit. |

This was our fifth visit to the villa over the past 9 years and once again we all had a fantastic time. We took our teenage daughter and her best friend, 20 year old daughter and boyfriend and our parents and everyone enjoyed the holiday and wants to return. The villa is superb and offers all your home comforts with more besides, with the pool table and pool being a continued source of entertainment. The views from the villa are breath taking both during the day and especially at night, looking down on the town below. The town, which is only a few minutes drive away, offers a large selection of excellent restaurants and shops to browse. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in a faultless villa and are looking forward to planning our next visit. |
