For the perfect holiday, suiting both families and couples, our townhouse offers a stunning place to get away from it all, whilst being just 5 minutes drive to the lovely town of Nerja and the many local beaches. Several good restaurants are within walking distance whilst Nerja town has bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. The communal pool is 50 metres from the front door offering sunbeds with parasols. The house is exceptionally well appointed with every facility required for a relaxing holiday.
For walkers, access to the hills is minutes from the house, where you can take the many footpaths to explore the beauty and wildlife of the Sierra de Almijara. The wonderful city of Granada, the Alpujarras Mountains, and the coastal resorts of Almunecar and Salobrena offer a good day out. Velez-Malaga and Almunecar both have water parks.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Nerja lies at the quieter eastern end of the Costa del Sol about 45 km from Malaga. Nerja overlooks the Mediterranean and is situated on a rugged headland in an area of sheltered coves with excellent sandy beaches. It is one of the smaller and more tastefully developed coastal resorts, noted for its absence of high-rise hotels . It is sheltered by the Sierra Almijara mountains to the north whose magnificent scenery leads to many typically Andalucian white hill villages such as Competa and Frigliana. Surrounded by some of the most fertile farmland in Spain, where olives, avocados and many other crops grow in abundance the Costa del Sol boasts the best winter climate in mainland Europe with very low rainfall and high rates of year-round sunshine.
Nerja / El Algarrobo area
Nerja remains a small unspoiled town. The old part of the town is a maze of narrow streets offering cafes, restaurants and tapas bars to suit all tastes, boutiques, fine shops and supermarkets. In the evening, both the Balcon de Europa, a palm-fringed promontory overlooking the sea, and the narrow streets come to life and are lovely places to stroll or just sit and watch the world go by. Nerja has many wonderful sandy beaches offering sunbed and parasol hire together with watersports and pedaloes.
The El Algarrobo Urbanisation nestles in the shelter of the Sierra Almijara mountains with wonderful views of the Mediterranean. It is situated in a quiet, residential area of Nerja just 5 minutes drive from the centre and local beaches.
Most visitors choose to hire a car for the duration of their stay but a local 'blue' bus operates a very regular service from the urbanisation to the centre of Nerja and local beaches.The trip to the famous Nerja caves is a must. They are only 2 km along the main road in the village of Maro. Further afield are the neighbouring coastal resorts of Almunecar and Salobrena to the east and Torrox to the west. The famous Alhambra Palace in Granada and the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, which offers ski facilities for 8 months of the year, are within a 90 minute drive. For the more energetic excellent walking is both closeby and in the Alpujarras mountains - an hour's drive away.
How to get there
Nerja is at the eastern end of the Costa del Sol, just 45 minutes drive from Malaga airport.
Fly to Malaga airport and then hire a car or take a taxi to Nerja.

Further details indoors: The 2 bedroomed house has a large comfortably furnished lounge with a dining table, sofa and 2 arm chairs, coffee-table and satellite TV showing both English and Spanish channels. Free internet access is available. There is a log burner with logs which can be obtained locally. We also have electric fans to keep you cool and a portable gas heater to warm any chilly evenings. The lounge leads to a newly refurbished, very well equipped kitchen with fitted cupboards and worktops, hob, full size oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. There is also an iron with ironing board.
There are 2 south facing terraces. French doors lead from the lounge to a private terrace which has a sun awning for shade, reclining chairs and furniture for al-fresco dining. A large second terrace leads from the main bedroom, it too has a table, chairs and a sun umbrella. A barbecue is available.
The very good sized first bedroom has a double bed, large fitted wardrobe, set of drawers and bedside table. There is hot and cold air conditioning. The second bedroom, although smaller, has twin beds, a large wardrobe, drawer unit, bedside table and electric fan. An additional camp bed is also available which is suitable for a child.
The newly refurbished bathroom is fully tiled and has a bath with overhead shower,handbasin and wc . There is a fitted heater for cooler weather.
A fitted radiator in the hall can also provide added warmth.
Further details outdoors: The large communal pool with extensive views over the surrounding countryside and the blue Mediterranean is just 50 metres from the front door. A pool ttendant is on duty at all times, sun loungers and umbrellas for shade are available. It is open from the beginning of May until the end of October.
A small supermarket and several restaurants are within easy walking distance. The local bus stops at the entrance to the urbanisation and runs very regularly to the town and beaches.
Parking is available on the road just outside the house.

Conditions
A deposit of 25% is required on booking with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to departure or immediately if booking is made within 6 weeks of departure date. Keys and directions will be posted to you on receipt of the balance.
