About the home

This south facing apartment is situated in the much sought after Oasis de Capistrano in Nerja, often referred to as one of Spain's best kept secrets. The terrace receives the sun all day (with an awning for shade lovers).The properties, with their white walls and red tiled roofs, are truly Spanish in design and are set against a stunning backdrop of mountains whilst enjoying sea views. A perfect base for families - with 3 communal swimming pools (including children's pool), excellent bar and restaurant. Another restaurant is situated 500 yards away, and a large supermarket and tennis courts are situated within an 8 minute walk towards town. There is plenty of scope for walking in the mountains or driving to the nearby golf course.

Burriana beach (Nerja's largest beach) is a pleasant 10 minute walk away and a selection of cafes and restaurants line the promenade. There is easy access to the property from nearby off- road parking. The local bus service to/from and around Nerja operates regularly and the bus stop is 2 mins from the apartment. The apartment offers a flatscreen TV/DVD player with cable channels and there is optional air conditioning/heating in the bedrooms. Separate heaters are available for winter guests.

The double bedroom has patio doors which open onto the terrace and you can also access the terrace from the twin bedroom. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.
The modern fitted kitchen is well equipped and the comfortable living room with double sofa and lounge chairs is bright and spacious with ample room for dining and relaxing. Patio doors lead out onto the large terrace which is equipped with four sun loungers, tables and chairs and a barbeque.
Books, board games, beach toys and videos are available. Satellite TV with DVD player (including Sky Sports). You may wish to bring a few DVDs.
Mosquito nets are fitted to the bedroom and bathroom doors and window but you probably won't see such a beast as the area is regularly sprayed.
Heaters are available for winter lets.

There are two swimming pools and a children’s pool, with life guards during peak season and toilet/changing facility.There is a smart pool-side restaurant and a snack bar serving a variety of good food, drinks and ices
Oasis has safe play areas and the opportunity to shelter from the sun. There is a pool table and table top football in the pool area.
The estate is security patrollled and a well-stocked supermarket, car hire and tennis club are all nearby.
Oasis de Capistrano is easily reached, being a short distance from the link to the new Motorway allowing you to reach Malaga in 30 minutes. The Malaga-Nerja bus services takes an hour if it's a direct bus.
A shuttle bus runs hourly to and from Nerja town.
The Oasis Community Office is open during the day and provides information.
Parasols and beach toys are provided in the apartment and we have cool bags and a hair dryer for guests' use.

The Costa del Sol region

The area is protected from the north by the Sierra Nevada mountains. As a result Nerja has a micro-climate of soft dry air and lies in one of Spain’s richest farming areas, known as the ‘Garden of Europe’. Costa Del Sol, the sunshine coast , boasts the most reliable weather in Europe .The weather is truly superb with clear blue skies, sun, sangria, flamenco dancing and friendly easy going people all make up the character of this part of Spain. Even in the cooler months, the area has a great deal of sunshine to offer allowing outdoor activities to continue all year round.

The Nerja / Oasis de Capistrano area

Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing

The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums, on which a canary can sometimes be heard singing. Atthe heart of Nerja is the spectacular Balcón de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains.

One of Nerja'smost spectacular attractions are the CAVES, situated 3kms from the town centre. They house archaeological treasure over 20,000 years old and one of the enormous caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, and the visitor can hire a horse-drawn carriage to explore the most romantic corner of the town.

The town's monuments include the 17th century Church of El Salvador, in a style which is a charming mixture of baroque and Moorish, or mudéjar, and the beautiful Gardens of Capistrano Playa, which descend to Burriana Beach.

Oasis de Capistrano is the prettiest of the Capistrano developments - a golf course is planned within walking distance of the urbanization.

Fly to Malaga airport - Oasis de Capistrano is 35 miles east of the airport, 30 mins drive by car.
Alternatively, catch the bus from airport to Malaga (these run every 15 minutes during the day) then take the bus to Nerja which leaves every hour. The bus from Malaga bus station takes approx. 1 hour.

“Brilliantly equipped apartment - a home from home” Brilliantly equipped apartment with large balcony/terrace housing two tables/8 chairs/4 loungers and awning. Really comfy beds and kitchen has everything you need including washing machine. Television has several English channels which was a bon. 25 mins walk into Nerja centre and 7 mins to Burianni beach/10 mins back uphill. There's a parasol in the apartment you can take to beach plus many beach/pool toys for children. The two pools 3 mins from apartment. The bus to Nerja takes 5 mins but we always enjoyed the walk. Very good supermarket 10 mins walk. Saw excellent husband/wife duet 'Gasoline' at Hotel Arcos Wednesday night and Hotel Nerja Club Sunday night both 8 mins walk next to roundabout. “Nerja 2011” The location was a little bit of a disappointment, because there is a moderate busy roundabout with a noisy drain-cover. Every time a car uses the roundabout in the evening and night they drive over the loose cover! When you don't mind a firm walk to Burriana Beach then you don't need a car, but it's advisable to go early when you want to go by car. Because it's difficult to find a parking space near the beach later during the afternoon. The beach is very crowded, but when you don't mind that, it's great and worth the walk. There were some small inconveniences e.g. when you have big and heavy bags it's not easy to reach the apartment with all those stairs, we also had some leakage of the toilet, but this was repaired in no time. In one of the bedrooms the light wasn't working properly, but we didn't mind that. The mosquito-curtain in the same bedroom was a little bit damaged, but functioned well enough. The sight from the terrace, the apartment and the air-con is great! Response: It's a pity that your experience was spoiled by a loose manhole cover and a busy beach - that's Spain I'm afraid.

“Sunny Costa Break” We stayed for 2 weeks in this apartment, 2 adults and 2 children...children aged 11 and 10 years. The apartment was spacious, very clean, well furnished, kitchen well equipped if we wanted to cook.... more

“perfect for everything” This apt was in a perfect place for everything, even down to public transport. Balcon de Europa brilliant and Nerja Town itself, beautiful. Burriana beach was majic, although if walking there, remember you have to walk back! Suggest taxi! The festival for farmers was on when we were there and it was excellent. Good restaurants within easy reach and large supermarket within 10 mins. All in all, very good and hope to be back next year. Response: Thanks for the review Bill

Your apartment was absolutely wonderful. We had a ball and couldn't have asked for a better equipped place to stay. Ended up using the BBQ three times as the weather was so good. Air con in the rooms was also a nice luxury to have at night.
