Home description
This beautiful Chalet style apartment is located on the piste a stone’s throw from the Tracouet Telecabine lift. For the surrounding areas there is the ski bus stop adjacent to the lift so you're sure to get a seat as it starts here.
The apartment consists of 2 double bedrooms both furnished to an extremely high standard. The beds are large doubles with 2 separate mattresses and 2 large duck feather quilts and pillows in both rooms. The kitchen is open plan country style with dishwasher, oven, fridge freezer and a mini oven toaster and everything you need to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. This overlooks onto the lounge / dining room which has a cosy feeling, with a beautiful large open log fire for those nights in. There is a Plasma TV ,DVD and CD music system, traditional wooden furniture from the Alpine region, inviting soft leather sofas with cushions and throws, slate floors and traditional wood panelling on the walls. Just open the doors and walk out to see the wonderful views of the Alps. The apartment has a very luxurious bathroom which consists of Vilroy and Bosch suites bath with shower, basin, WC and a separate double walk in shower within the same room. There is also an additional WC and sink within the apartment .
The apartment has under floor heating throughout. It is located on the ground floor so has its own garden and off course patio on the piste! Due to the location of the building this patio almost surrounds the whole property north west and south. The south patio faces up the piste ,it is very large and a great sun trap perfect for your very own apres ski!
This apartment has been individually furnished for the utmost luxury and thought for the pure enjoyment of your holiday.The apartment has its own parking space downstairs in the building and a heated boot locker for your own personal use.

The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region
Nendaz lies on a sunny terrace above the Rhone Valley near Sitten (Sion), the capital of the Valais.
With over 300 days of sunshine a Year!!! In winter it has everything a winter sports enthusiast could want, being at the heart of the ‘Four Valleys’ ski region. During the warmer seasons, it is a holiday resort popular with bikers and hikers and near to the vicinity of some very nice golf courses in the surrounding areas .
Nendaz area
The terrace of Nendaz, stretching from 1300 m to 1400 m in altitude, commands a fantastic view of the Bernese, Valais and Vaud Alps. A modern holiday resort has grown up all around the centre of this delightful old Valais village with its traditional timber houses, barns and grain stores. Siviez, eight km to the south in the Nendaz valley, also belongs to this community. It is sometimes also called ‘Super Nendaz’ and lifts run from here to Mont Fort, at 3330 m the highest peak of the ‘Les 4 Vallées’ (Four Valleys) ski resort.

Nendaz lies in the broad ‘Four Valleys’ ski region (Verbier, Veysonnaz, Nendaz, La Tsoumaz & Thyon) From Tracouet mountain in Haute Nendaz you have direct access via Plan-du-fou to this wonderful ski paradise but alternatively you can take the short ski bus ride to Siviez ‘Super Nendaz’ and jump straight onto the Mont Fort ski lift.
There is one domain and two ski sectors.The 4 Vallées sector is the combination of four ski resorts : Nendaz, Verbier, Veysonnaz and Thyon, plus access to the Mont-Fort area. It offers a 412 km of slopes, plenty to give you the very best of skiing, as well as the opportunity to take unforgettable tours in the mountains. This consists of – 412 km of pistes - 92 lifts – with 47km of the pistes equipped with snow cannons.
The Printze sector (the second sector) is the combination of three ski resorts: Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon. This offer s one ski-pass for 220 km of slopes, convenient for all levels. They guarantee that every member of the family will have their bit of fun! This consists of – 220 km of pistes - 50 lifts – with 35 km of pistes equipped with snow cannons. There are also off-piste activities with 12 km of cross-country ski trails, 100 km of winter hiking trails and 40 km of showshoe tracks.
Nendaz offers you an exceptional skiing area, located in a beautiful mountainous setting. From the resort at 1400 m. above sea, to the Mont-Fort glacier at 3300 m. You will be sure to have great holiday.
SUMMER
Capital of the alphorn: The International Alphorn Festival is a convivial occasion that fills the Nendaz valley with festive music: a celebration of traditions that are very much alive.
Around Nendaz there are approximately 250 kilometres of hiking trails, a network of paths running from the orchards in the valley up to the high Alps. A particular highlight is the excursion by cableway or mountain bike to the glacier terrain on Mont Fort, with its expansive view of 24,000m peaks, including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
Highlights and Sightseeing :
Suonen trails: gentle walks along 98 km of Nendaz irrigation channels accompanied by the sound of the babbling waters.
Grande Dixence Reservoir: at 285 m, the highest reservoir in the world in the Hérémence Valley (visits to view the inner workings from mid June to the end of September).
Sitten (Sion): capital of the Canton of Valais with its historic townscape dominated by the imposing fortified hill castle of Valère which commands a stunning view.
Saillon-les-Bains: a little town of Neolithic and Roman origins with a variety of attractions including thermal baths and Farinet’s Trail, a symbolic walk which depicts the history of the big-hearted forger.
Grottensee near St-Léonard: from March to November there are boat trips across this underground lake between Sion und Sierre.
How to get there
By Air – Best to fly to Geneva Airport www.gva.ch. This is served frequently by many UK airlines and a small airport easy to get through. Helpful websites www.easyjet.com, www.flybe.com, www.ba.com, ww.swiss.com , www.ski-flight.com. There is small airport at Sion at the bottom of the mountain ( 20- 30 minutes drive) and is served in the winter by some UK holiday charter flights.
By Car – Car hire is available at Geneva airport it has all of the well know hire companies but it is best to book in advance on the website to avoid disappointment and usually cheaper.Nendaz is approximately less than 2 hours drive, mostly motorway.
By Train – You can catch a train directly from Geneva airport straight through to Sion which takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. www.sbb.ch . From there you can either take the connecting post bus direct to the Telecabine ( our apartment is the last stop) check timetable! or you can take a Taxi which is between 80 – 90 CHF.
If there are 4 adults in your party even though no car is needed , it could be more beneficial to book a small car as it could be the same price as the train fares. As mentioned a carparking space comes with the apartment rental.Also gives you a chance to drive to neighbouring Crans Montana, well worth a visit.

Further details indoors: The apartment block LesEtagnes is privately owned , comprising of 10 apartments.The apartment is 92m2 and the patio surrounding the whole property is for your exclusive use.
The rental of this apartment includes the usage of 1 underground parking space located 2 floors down.In the basement there is a designated ski locker/ boot warmer for you usage, shared washing machine/drying room and a Bike room.
The concierge for the building is located next door in hotel Les Etagnes and is responsible for the cleaning of common areas and maintenance etc.
Further details outdoors: There are 2 outside benches 1 located at the front and 1 at the rear of the property to enjoy sunshine and the wonderful views.
Located on the piste adjacent to ski lift there is a lively apres ski bar in Les Etagnes hotel next door and the lively Cactus bar is less that 5 minutes walk away .
Plenty of good restaurants nearby, try the Swiss cuisine from this region it is exceptional .There is a supermarket a short walk from your apartment, also there number of other supermarkets located in the resort.

Arrival – departure. Please arrive between 16.00 and 2000 hours on the start day of your holiday and vacate at 10.00 on the day of your departure . If your arrival time is later you must contact the management service company to arrange key collection.
