The chalet set in a quite village of Saclentse in the mountains close to Nendaz, with clear views across the valley from the gardens and the chalet.

This alpine region is a very popular place for people who enjoy skiing, hiking, snowboarding, mountain walking or cycling. There are many ski resorts in the Swiss Alps with hundreds and thousands kilometres of ski slopes.


The village of Saclentse is a typical mountain village with a church and a Bar/restaurant - 4 miles away is the resort of Nendaz with its many shops / restaurants. The village also has a wellness & Sport centre

"Simply fabulous!"

We would highly recommend this accommodation – it has been the best accommodation we have ever had on holiday! The location is stunning – getting up in the morning and walking onto the balcony you are immediately greeted with beautiful uninterrupted views of mountains and valleys. The garden is a lovely place to relax after a day's walking. The interior of the chalet is simply beautiful – it has been fitted with quality items and furniture. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. As the previous review states you do need to be reasonably fit to walk down all the steps to the chalet (but as you are likely to be into walking if you come to this area, then it should not be a problem!) We will certainly be recommending this holiday accommodation to our friends! Thank you for a fabulous holiday!

"Perfect mountain retreat, the advert really does not do the chalet justice"

We have stayed at Libellules three times now and absoloutely adore everything about the chalet and it's surroundings. Sitting on the side of the Printse river valley the views across to the mountains in the North and East are a fantastic sight to wake up to as the sun rises over them in the morning and sets on them again late in the evening. The chalet has a large flat private garden which has the sun throughout the day but as the owner points out, the steep but sturdy all weather steps from the parking area down to the chalet would be a challenge for the elderley or very young. Access can also me made however via a more gentle slope down the road and along a footpath to the rear of the property. The photo's in the advert can never do justice to the chalet. The quality and style of the furnishings, equipment and ornaments is excellent and shows that this is a well loved home rather than a holiday rental. The kitchen is very well stocked with good quality utensils and white goods and there is an abundance of crockery and cutlery. The satellite TV picks up the main UK freeview channels and there is a vast choice of DVDs and CDs available. There is also good wireless broadband reception throughout the chalet and gardens. The bathroom is clean, fresh and light. The main bedroom very spacious with large wardrobes, the most comfortable bed with opulent pillows and double doors opening onto the balcony. A second bedroom at the back of the chalet has cosy bunk beds. Although we have only stayed in the summer months the chalet has been warm and comfortable and is fitted with electric radiators and a wood burning fireplace for the winter. The chalet sits amongst a group a short distance from the village centre with very friendly and helpful neighbours, many of them permenant residents. Saclentse in general has a very welcoming feel to it as you walk around the lanes and footpaths of the area. There is a bar/restaurant just a couple of hundred metres up the road and every other facility you could wish for just a short drive up to the main resort of Haute Nendaz or down into Basse Nendaz and the villages coming out of the main town of Sion about ten miles away. The hiking and mountain biking opportunities either from the doorstep of the chalet or from the short drive up in the Siviez valley or across the valley on the Mt Rouge area rival any in the world and the ski lifts allow year round access to extend your range right across to the Verbier resorts. We used to travel to Canada every year to get the kind of outdoor fix that the Valais region gives us but having discovered Switzerland we hope to be returning for many years to come. An added bonus is that pets are allowed in the chalet so the dogs get to come along with us to enjoy the hikes. I honestly find it difficult to find fault with La Libellules and hope to be back there many times in the future.
