The Nelson-Tasman Region
The battle rages on here in New Zealand between the North Island and the South Island as to who is the 'mainland', but one thing is for sure although that battle will never be settled, the South Island is by far the most beautiful and picturesque of the 2 islands.
With its scenic coastlines, fabulous fiords and sounds, vast mountainous regions, breath taking valleys, world renowned vineyards and the most friendly people in New Zealand, the South Island is a fabulous island to visit.
For those that enjoy the arts / pottery / wine trails, there are numerous art studios, potteries and vineyards. Our region has countless mountain and recreational bike trails with bike hire available at many locations.
A short drive across the bay and you reach the beautiful quaint seaside village of Mapua and the Ruby Coastline scenic drive that takes you along the coastal stretch commonly known as Ruby Bay. From there pass through Tasman / Motueka / Riwaka 3 of the largest apple / pear / kiwifruit growing regions in the country. Forty minutes drive from Nelson takes you to Kaiteriteri Beach & my preferred choice, Little Kaiteriteri, both very popular swimming beaches. Ten minutes from there brings you to Marahau which officially marks the start of the spectacular Abel Tasman National Park. Kayak / canoe / paddle board hire is available in Marahau.
The Kahurangi National Park and Nelson Lakes National Park also offers trampers many interesting trails and for those that enjoy skiing, there's Rainbow Ski Field.
There is so much to see and do, the possibilities are endless, so come and explore and see for yourself what our beautiful region has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your very beautiful and stylish house, just loved the loo wallpaper! The view was breathtaking and we felt quite spoilt as we were not short of anything, in fact most generous. We loved Nelson and could have done with another few more days. Many thanks and kind regards till next time. Carol, David and Ian.

A lovely place to stay! I couldnt have chosen a better place for the entire family on our 1st trip to Nelson.
The location is very ideal for those really wanting to relax. The view overlooking the beach is an amazing sight and made our 1st breakfast at the veranda a wonderful experience.
The house is very tidy and complete with everything you need. I like the attic room and the toilet is a wonderful surprise! :) I really enjoyed reading the quotes.
Our family had been to many holiday homes but this place is simply the best!
Thank you, Lynette and Dennis for being so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Our stay in your lovely holiday home was truly spectacular! We wished we could have stayed longer!
By the way, the welcome card was a sweet gesture! Made us feel so special!
We will be very happy to recommend your place to our friends.

"Would definitely stay there again..."
Thanks a lot Lynette for the use of your lovely house. Before arriving, I wasn't too sure if the location would be ok. After staying over the Easter break my wife and I were so happy we chose this home. Beautiful views overlooking the beach. Great balcony to sit back and enjoy a drink on. Lounge room was vert comfortable and bedrooms were everything you could ask for. All in all, a great experience in the Nelson area. Thanks a lot
Thanks for your booking and your positive feedback Kevin. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our holiday home and look forward to booking you again if you come back to Nelson.
