Home description

The hamlet is located in the heart of the ‘crete Senese’, the wonderful landscape to the south of Siena. Access to the hamlet is along a ‘white road’ – approximately 1km off the main Siena–Asciano road.
In the hamlet are farm buildings, and you will have the chance to mix with the locals. The setting is beautiful, with views over the rolling hills in every direction. There is a further terrace area where you can barbeque and enjoy the ever changing landscape.
With Siena just a short drive away and the marvels of the crete Senese to discover, we feel that Casa Grania is a great base to explore this region. Should you wish to use a swimming pool, the owner has made arrangements with a nearby agriturismo, and guests can use the pool free of charge (approximately 2kms away).

The Tuscany region

The apartment is suitable for families or individual who want to be situated close enough to well-known historical site of Tuscany (Siena, Pienza, Monte Oliveto...) but enjoy walking in the natural beauty of the countryside, to experience the true Tuscan life.

Near Siena / Asciano area

Montalcino one of the famous wine growing areas in Tuscany , located 30kms from the apartment . Where you can taste the varies Brunello wines of the area.
The most famous festival is the Palio in Siena which runs on the 2nd July and 16th August. People come from all over Italy to watch the bare back horse race that has been running since Medieval times.
There's festivals at different times during the summer in the villages that surround the area of Siena. In the autumn the festivals are based on truffles and mushrooms such as festival in San Giovanni D'asso held in October.

How to get there

Fly to Florence or Pisa. Cheap flights available Ryanair. com to Pisa, varies car hire companies at the airport e.g. Hertz, Avis, Maggiore. Also car hire companies in Siena - Hertz & Avis.
Cheap Ryanair flights into Perugia which is only 90kms from the apartment.

From Siena follow for Arezzo - Perugia taking the link road SS 326 Siena-Bettolle.
Turn right at first exit Taverne D’Arbia
Drive through modern residential village
At petrol station turn right following road around
At roundabout turn right over the bridge signs Asciano
Pass railway crossing and village of Arbia, continue along scenic winding road passing Leonina on the left
Turn right (sign S.Martino in Grania) onto strada bianca, with red letter boxes and green rubbish bin at corner on right hand side. Pass cemetary and farmhouses (Podere Grania) on the left hand side, turn left.

The main door leads to the well equipped large kitchen – dishwasher, oven, 5 gas hobs, fridge / freezer. Beyond the kitchen there is a comfortable living room and four double bedrooms. All the bedrooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. One of the bedrooms has access onto the terrace. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath.

Further details outdoors:
There is parking in front of the house and entry is on the ground floor where there is a reception room. Stairs lead to the main house and here is a wonderful terrace for dining al-fresco and relaxing.

Once you have decided to book, we will email you confirmation with request of 30% deposit to secure your booking. Payment of deposit to be paid via bank transfer in Pound Stirling.

Final payment to be paid via bank transfer 30 days before arrival upon which the directions to the apartment will be sent.
