No. 6 Birch Street is located in heart of the beautifaul village of Nayland just 1 hour from central London,and 7 miles from Britan's oldest recorded town Colchester. Nayland makes a wonderful centre from which to explore surrounding historic towns including Lavenham, Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds and of course no visit to Suffolk would be complete without a visit to Suffolk's beautiful heritage coast at Aldeburgh, Southwold and Orford. There are a number of excellent gastro pubs locally, notably The Angel and The Crown both at Stoke by Nayland, The Crown at Bildeston, Milsoms at Dedham and of course the Anchor in Nayland itself.

Nayland area

Nayland lies on the northern bank of the river Stour which divides Essex and Suffolk and during the seventeenth century was a leading centre of commerce for the wool and cloth trade of East Anglia.
Nayland is an idyllic Suffolk village with a riverside pub/restaurant, village shops, butchers, interiors boutique, traditional post office & gift shop. There are cycle routes and leisurely country walks starting from the village, and a number of golf courses, the famous Stoke by Naland golf course is just five minutes away.

Nayland is surrounded by numerous stunning restaurants including The Anchor, The Crown/Angel, in nearby Stoke by Nayland and Milsoms Restaurant en route to Dedham.

Nayland lies 7 miles from Colchester, Britain's oldest recorded town, with a rich and varied historical links to the Romans, Boudica, a medieval castle, the English Civil War and the Battle of Britain.

How to get there

Nayland is approximately 7 miles heading north from Colchester North Station and the centre of Colchester town on the A134 towards Sudbury. It is easily accessible on main line intercity trains with National Express from London Liverpool Street (journey time 50 minutes) and 45 minutes by road from Stansted Airport. It is also 30 minutes from the international ferry ports of Harwich and Felixstowe.

With it's exposed beams and beautiful interior complete with open wood fire it is perfect for a romantic hideaway or family retreat. The property boasts a large open plan living space with French doors leading to a beautiful enclosed private garden with a decked area with table and seating to the rear. There is a large modern kitchen complete with range cooker, integral dish washer & fridge. This leads on to a large dining area complete with seating for 6. Upstairs there are 3 ample sized double rooms and a large bathroom comprising wc, wash basin, bath and separate luxurious shower.
