Brilliant location Townhouse

The Goudi House is a beautifuly renovated turn of the 20th century property that was originally owned by a Greek Orthodox Papa and then in 1980 bought by a Greek carpenter for his family and 5 children who then added 2 extra floors.

A complete renovation was undertaken in 2012 to a very high specification and the property now has many contemporary features and everything to make your stay truly memorable..

The Aegean Islands region
Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades and mostly self sufficient with its agricultural history, has a stunning mountain range with beautiful unspoilt villages which are like splashes of white amongst the landscape and where the local people welcome visitors as they do their family. Sample their fabulous cuisine, local wine and enjoy the hospitality. It is like a time gone by.
Our beaches are boasted to be some of the best in Greece with endless miles of white sand and turquoise clear water, totally safe for swimming and at the south of the island some secluded bays that are virtually undiscovered.
The climate here is one of the best in the southern Mediterranean area with virtually uninterrupted sunshine from the middle of May till the middle of October, with temperatures averaging 30 degress celcius in the Summer. As we are an island, there is generally a breeze that keeps the climate manageable and our days are long and glorious.
The history of the island is varied with Byzantine, venetian and Greek infuences, all still greatly evident and there are many monuments and churches in evidence. The Kastro area of our town Chora, the Venetian quarter is an incredible display of architecture, alleyways and a past era.
People have dwelt in Naxos since 4000 BC and on arrival to this beautiful island by boat, the first visual you see is The Portara, the doorway to the ancient Temple of Apollo which was built circa 500 BC and never finished.
Rising above the main town of Chora is the Venetian Kastro, built in 1200 and the governing seat in the Cyclades for 300 years.
Within the perimeter of the castle there are a number of Venetian residences,a 13th Century Catholic Cathedral and the French School where Nikos Karantzakis, the renowned Greek writer, studied. Zorba the Greek and The Last Temptation of Christ are among his most renowned works. The building is now an Archaeological museum displaying many examples of marble and ceramics.
The Bourgos area, where the Greeks lived when the town was under Venetian control is full of winding streets with many shops and restaurants to choose from.
All this is on your doorstep and only a few minutes walk away!
Mouthwatering restaurants, intimate bars and ouzerias, fabulous shops and of course the port and delightful fishing harbor with a marina for the larger boats. You can while away your day just watching!
Our local town hall, the Dymos, arrange Sunday walks through many parts of seemingly undiscovered terrain between October and May and there are other companies that arrange specific walking holidays too.
Watersports facilities are available on a number of our beaches and Kite and Windsurfing is also a popular activity. Try snorkeling here too. It is so beautiful with the clear water and the underwater world!
There is also a great riding school, suitable for all ages, taking a number of daily treks, even along some beaches. There is something majical about riding horseback along the white sand, with water lapping, just before sunset.
Cultural events abound throughout the year and to view current activities on the island go to www.inaxos.com.
An evening concert in the Kastro with beautiful Greek music and some local wine will be an experience never forgotten
