About the home

The Guest house is a single storey villa ,light and airy. The main living area,comprising of lounge and dining seating and a well equipped kitchen, leads onto 2 terraces for your outdoor living. The Villa has a double and twin bedroom and shower room, Villa Guilena is located in the beautiful mountain valley of Melanes. Peaceful,with only the sound of goat bells yet only 15 minutes drive from the stunning beaches of Agia Anna and Agios Prokopios,and a short walk to a mini market and some inviting local tavernas.
Enjoy our pool with its panoramic mountain views,bask in the uninterrupted sunshine and eat al fresco on our terraces..
The villa is ideal for families,with plenty of activities in the surrounding areas,including watersports,walking,cycling and horse riding.
To enjoy our beautiful island,car hire is recommended

The Aegean Islands region

Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades and mostly self sufficient with its agricultural history,has a stunning mountain range,with beautiful unspoilt villages,which are like splashes of white amongst the landscape and where the local people welcome visitors as they would their family. Sample their simple cuisine and enjoy their hospitality.It is like a time gone by.

Our beaches are boasted to be some of the best in Greece with endless miles of white sand and turquoise clear water,totally safe for families to swim and at the south of the island,some secluded bays,that are virtually undiscovered.

The climate here is one of the best in the southern Mediterranean area,with virtually uninterrupted sunshine from the beginning of May till the middle of October,with temperatures averaging 30 degrees celcius in the Summer.As we are an island there is generally a breeze that keeps the temperatures manageable and our days are long and glorious.

The history of the island is varied with Byzantine,Venetian and Greek influences still greatly evident,and there are many monuments and churches displaying this. and the castro area of our town Chora,in the Venetian area is an incredible display of buildings,alleys and a past era.

The Naxos / Melanes area

The area of Melanes,is a lush valley,at the foot of our mountain range with many glorious walks through unspoilt countryside.

Our local town hall,the Dymos,arrange Sunday walks through these and many other parts of Naxos,between October and May and there are other companies that arrange specific walking holidays too.
Watersports facilities are available on a number of our beaches and Kite and Windsurfing is a very popular activity. Try snorkeling here too.It is really beautiful,with the clear water and the underwater world!

We have a great horse riding school ,suitable for all ages,taking a number of daily treks ,even along our beaches. There is something magical about riding horseback along the white sand,with water lapping,just before sunset

Arrival to the mainland of Greece is the usual way to travel to Naxos.
Athens airport is served by many airlines including Aegean Air,British Airways,Norwegian Airlines and Easy Jet
There are also some seasonal flights direct to Santorini.
Olympic Air also have regular daily flights into Naxos but these need to be booked well in advance,as it is only a small aircraft.
Ferries run regularly from the port of Piraeus which can be reached by taxi,metro or a number 96x bus,which will take approx. 1.5 hours. Taxi and bus stops are directly outside the airport.
Ferry companies include,Blue Star Ferries,Hellenic Seaways,Nel Lines and Sea Jets and it is advisable to book these on line well in advance.
Car hire is highly recommended and The Rental Centre,Court Square, Naxos is one of the oldest established companies here,with friendly,helpful staff speaking many languages.

“A great little villa” Fantastic villa for quiet holidays! Use of a pool a plus! Only minor problem was mosquitos, maybe the windows needed nets but it was not a big problem! Will come again
