The one level villa is only 15 minutes walk (downhill, or 3 minutes by car) to the beautiful beach of Amitis. This recently built villa offers spacious accommodation for families or groups. There are three good sized bedrooms, a huge living and dining area, well equipped kitchen area, 2 bathrooms (one with a bath) with toilets. There are wonderful sea and mountain views and a well maintained garden with summer fruit and vegetables. The villa is cleaned and serviced once a week. There is a huge fireplace and heating so this provides a perfect getaway all year round. Outside there is a wide choice of seating and eating areas providing shade at the height of summer and protection from the north winds.

The owner has lived on the island for 20+ years and leads walks around the most undiscovered and unspoilt areas of this idyllic island. There are opportunities for plenty of activities such as cycling, swimming, diving, wind and kite surfing or fishing trips. For the less active painting, photography and cooking sessions could be arranged. All such extra activities would be charged separately. Naxos is easy to get to by flying direct to Athens, or from May to October to Santorini or Mykonos. From Athens it is a 5 hour boat trip or by the daily flight only 45 minutes. The Aegean Islands region

Located in the fertile valley of Engares on the road out of town going to the north of the island. The villa is situated off a main road away from the noise of any traffic but close to villages offering a range of excellent tavernas. Shops are only 10 minutes drive away in the main town.

Car rental is essential so you can explore the island. There is easy access to the beautiful coast road to Appollon in the north. Easy access to the inland mountains of Koronos and the villages of Melanes, Moni and Knidaros. You can reach the wonderful paradise gardens in Flerio sip freshly squeezed fruit juice and see one of the island's kouroi -a statue of a youth destined for the sacred island of Delos.

The climate is wonderfull for year round holidays. In the low season the temperature is usually 10-15 degrees C, there can be wild and wet stormy days but seldom for long periods and interspesed with beautiful clear sunny days. The sea is still warm in January. In medium season the weather can be hot and sunny with the odd windy cooler day or wet day. In high summer there is always a refreshing breexe and you can guarantee to wake up to blue skies.

Even in winter there are festivals and activities to enjoy and it is a good time to explore the island and see its beauty. In many ways Naxos is like Crete but on a smaller scale. Within 20 minutes you can leave a sun soaked beach and be up in the coll and green of the mountains.

Naxos is the largest island in the Ccyclades, has plenty of water and a strong tradition of agriculture. It is home of the famous Naxos potato. There is excellent local meat, fruit, wine, spirits and vegetables on the island.
