Home description
Castetbon is a tiny village and the house is next to the church in the centre. It is well appointed and recently refurnished. It is positioned on a hilltop with wonderful views to the Pyrenees. The garden surrounds the house with views to the countryside. Original details preserved, flagstone, tiled and wooden floors plus beamed ceilings. The outside barn houses table tennis and darts. There are also cycles and garden games available. Locally one can visit Navarrenx (10 mins drive) a beautiful medieval walled town, plus Sauveterre and Orthez where there are restaurants and shops. The Gave de Pau offers rafting, canoeing, fishing plus swimming in the summer. Tennis and an outdoor pool are available at Navarrenx. Local day trips include visits to the mountains, the beaches of Hossegor and Capbreton, the towns of Pau, Biarritz and Bayonne.

Castetbon lies within an hour to the wonderful beaches north and south of Biarritz offering fantastic surfing opportunities. In winter a day trip is a must to the ski resorts of La Pierre St Martin and Gourette.
Navarrenx area
Navarrenx, only 5 miles away, is a medieval walled town that encloses bars, restaurants and shops. There is a local produce market here on wednesdays and sundays (summer).

Further details indoors: The house is cosily equipped with new furnishings and kitchenware. Being stone built the house stays cool in the summer but there is central heating for a bit of winter warmth. The downstairs bathroom is the main family bathroom but upstairs there is an en suite shower room and w.c. The bedrooms offer 1 double, 1 king-size and one family room with 1 double and 2 bunk beds. Great for families with an upstairs mezzanine where there is an additional sofa bed and where children can disappear to watch dvd's. There are books and board games in the lounge.
Further details outdoors: Large garden surrounding the property, plus front courtyard. The barn houses table tennis and darts. There is a BBQ and outdoor garden furniture plus loungers. There are 2 adult and 2 child bikes available plus outdoor games e.g. boules.
