The Old Smithy is set in the South Cheshire countryside across the courtyard from the owners residence. A beautifully maintained part beamed cottage ideal for 2 couples or a romantic break to get away from it all. The cottage offers a wood burning stove to cosy up to on those chilly winter evenings whilst the 'farmhouse' kitchen with its oak handcrafted units is an ideal space to share hearty breakfasts and evening meals whilst planning the many activities that the area has to offer....
Parking is in the courtyard for 2 cars.
Browsing in the local historic market town of Nantwich with its coffee shops, eateries and individual shops or heading into the 'Potteries' to check out the pottery outlets to find that bargain buy.... or perhaps a day at Chester Races...there are so many other places of interest or walks/bike rides to entice you. Also within easy distance of Liverpool /Shrewsbury.
Bridgemere Garden Centre, the UK's largest garden centre, is just 1 mile away.
The Hand & Trumpet Pub is 2 miles away where they serve fabulous hearty fare. The Swan with 2 necks is 6 miles away, a gastro pub where the food is excellent.

The Cheshire region
Bridgemere is situated in the southern most point of rural Cheshire. it borders Staffordshire and Shropshire.
Why not head to Stoke on Trent, the home of pottery (The Potteries') to check out the outlets shops to find that bargain buy.
The historic city of Chester lies on The River Dee and is about a 40 min drive away from Bridgemere. It is known for its City Walls that encircle this medieval city and The Rows, black & white timbered building of residences and shops. Chester races attract tens of thousands of visitors a year. The Flat races are from Spring till Autumn.
Shrewsbury is about a 45 mins drive from Bridgemere. It lies on the River Severn and boasts over 600 listed buildings in this historic market town. It is home to one of the largest and oldest horticultural events in the UK....the annual 'Shrewsbury Flower Show' It is a 2 day event Mid August.
Browse in the local historic market town of Nantwich. It is known for its black & white timbered properties, many of which are listed.
Visit the individual shops or just relax with a coffee from one of the many coffee shops. Cheshire is known for its cheeses....the International Cheese Awards will be held at the annual at Nantwich Show on the 30th August 2014. (Google for more details)

Cyclists and walkers can enjoy roads and paths in the countryside around Cheshire. The pretty village of Audlem is about 6 miles away and is dominated by St James church which was built on top of a walled mound. Audlem is a fabulous starting point for many walks, maps of which can be obtained from the newsagents there. Some of the walks are along the towpath of The Shropshire Union Canal. There is a real sense of community here and the village hosts numerous summer events, in fact the summer bunting stays up most of the year.
