About this location
The Scottish Highlands region
For a real escape from the hustle and bustle of your daily life, you can’t beat the Scottish Highlands and its breathtaking mountains, glens and lochs.
The cottages are located on the south side of the Moray Firth, 20 miles east of Inverness. Located in the rain shadow of the Cairngorm mountain range to the south and the west Highlands gives a mostly mild and dry climate throughout the year.
The farm lane winds around surrounding fields to mature woodland and a free guided tour is available by the friendly farmer. Find out about growing crops, rearing cattle and what a ‘floppy lug’ can tell you. For all budding farmers no tour would be complete without a photo opportunity by the big red Massey Ferguson tractor. Hear also about the legend of the Witch’s Stone and the story of the minister’s wife’s bloomers!
The great location, rural yet only 2 miles from the main A96, makes Broomton Farm Cottages an ideal base for touring. There are a wide variety of attractions within easy reach – from beaches at Nairn, Findhorn and Roseisle to castles, golf courses, craft shops, distilleries, and the capital of the Scottish Highlands , Inverness, only 20 miles away.

"High quality cottage"
We had a lovely week in Larch Cottage; the views and abundance of wildlife was an absolute tonic and the couple of days it was warm enough to breakfast on the patio really helped us unwind. The cottage itself is equipped to a high standard with every convenience (excepting a dishwasher, in case this is important to you) and there is plenty to do within easy travelling distance to make either a leisurely break or action packed holiday. In addition, David was a delight to deal with, being prompt in attending to us as well as informative on farming, the wider area and the weather!
