Sugar Mill - Rooftop Suite
Villa | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Unique and so charming, Sugar Mill will delight couples with its whimsical coziness and surprise them with a bounty of excellent amenities, not to mention the inspiring ocean views to be savored. Built as a modern replica of a sugar mill from island plantation days long past, Sugar Mill showcases creative architecture with a contemporary twist; it is constructed of stone and overlooks blue vistas of Savannah Bay, Little Dix Bay and Long Bay.
The Mill's topmost floor comprises Sugar Mill's Rooftop Suite, a compact and charming one-bedroom level for two, featuring central air-conditioning, a king bed dressed in fine linens, and a wonderfully-equipped gourmet kitchen for those who love to cook on holiday (with advance notice, your Suite can be provisioned with your list of groceries for the day you arrive, so you can start your relaxation at Sugar Mill the moment you walk in the door - please inquire). Through curtained french doors is your private tiled balcony with sink-into cushioned chairs for sunset cocktails.
Outside, a stone staircase curves up to Sugar Mill's top level, the Rooftop where your own private pool and terrace overlooks the sea, blue skies and green islands in the distance. This Rooftop terrace, exclusively for Rooftop Suite guests only, offers alfresco dining, cushioned chairs, sofa and chaise lounges, plus a big gas grill for poolside cookouts - take advantage of cool tradewinds and birds-eye views of ocean and evening sunsets.
You'll find the Rooftop Suite a creative pied-a-terre with curved walls; an excellent use of space. Cool slate floors add a rich look, lighting is well done inside and out, and interesting decorative items collected on Caribbean travels add a lighthearted flair to the interior. Sugar Mill is surrounded by flowering tropical gardens set amongst boulders, and enjoys such memorable views. Behind the Sugar Mill for your exploration are 19th-century historic stone ruins of Nail Bay's old sugar plantation. Although Sugar Mill is secluded on a private hillside, Nail Bay's office, restaurant and bar are but a short walk away. Book this one-of-a-kind villa early for you and your sweetheart!
YOU MAY RENT SUGAR MILL'S ROOFTOP SUITE FOR TWO (POSSIBLY SHARING THE MILL WITH ANOTHER COUPLE IN THE GARDEN SUITE BELOW), OR YOU MAY RENT THE ENTIRE SUGAR MILL WITH ITS TWO SEPARATE BEDROOM SUITES AND ITS BONUS LOWER LEVEL FOR UP TO 4 PERSONS - SEE RENTAL NOTES BELOW FOR LINK TO FULL DETAILS AND RATES FOR SUGAR MILL VILLA-2 BRs.
Natural beauty is in abundance on the third largest of the British Virgin Islands. Explore the indigenous plant-lined trails, nature sanctuaries and natural wonders of the protected national parks. By mid-morning in Virgin Gorda, many have settled down on one of the many deserted beaches that fringe the island. The pace of life is slow on Virgin Gorda, but if you don't want to spend the day on a beach, there are plenty of other activities. You could explore The Baths- huge boulders provide a myriad of rock pools, secret beaches, and trails. Or spend the morning at a hillside restaurant cooled by gentle breezes while you watch the ferries cross the North Sound far below. Dramatic slopes plunge from Gorda Peak to the turquoise waters below.
