Home description

• Positioned directly on one of the most beautiful swimming beaches in Israel, on over 1000 sqm of private enclosed land, with a large private swimming pool (14X4 m), our villa is beautifully furnished and equipped presenting an extraordinary opportunity for that really special holiday.

• The main villa is spread over 2 stories with a studio unit on the third (bottom) floor. The studio unit is not let separately and is part and parcel of the main house with access from within or by separate entrance. The top floor includes 4 double bedrooms with fantastic views to the sea, downstairs includes spacious, open plan lounge, with access to two covered terraces directly on the garden and overlooking the beach. The studio unit includes a separate double bedroom, bathroom and living area.

The Western Galilee region

• Nahariya is Israel's most Northern town and as such the whole of the Galilee is easily accessible, including the historic city of Acco (10 min drive) with its picturesque port and old city and Haifa (25 min drive) with its many museums, Bahai world centre and gardens, Carmel mountains nature reserve and more. Further inland Nazareth, Tiberias, The Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), the holy city of Safed (to mention but a few) all provide fascinating day trips.
• Nahariya is also on the main railway line, and central Israel, Tel Aviv and beyond are all a simple 1 to 2 hour train ride away, with trains almost every 1/2 hour.


Nahariyah area

Nahariya, 30km/19mi north of Haifa on a beautiful stretch of the Mediterranean coast, was originally an agricultural settlement on the banks of the river Ga'aton founded in 1934 by Jews from Germany. It still bears the imprint of its original settlers, but has now developed into a popular seaside resort with beautiful scenery and many places of historical interest in the surrounding area.

Two great examples of local day trips are the Rosh Haniqra Caves and Monfort Castle.

7km/4.5mi north of Akhziv, on the Lebanese frontier, is the white chalk cliff of Rosh Haniqra ("Cape of the Caves"). In the course of his expedition to Egypt Alexander the Great, like many armies and merchants' caravans before and after him, passed this way and had steps cut in the cliff to make it easier to scale. This staircase in the rock later became known as the Ladder of Tyre. On top of the cliff there is now a viewpoint affording superb panoramic views, with a restaurant, souvenir shops and a cableway running down to the caves at the foot of the cliff.

The Crusader castle of Montfort, 14km/8.5mi east of Nahariya, is the largest ruin in western Galilee.
The castle was built by Comte Joscelin de Courtenay in the 12th century to protect Acre. In 1187 it was destroyed by Saladin; then in 1220 Hermann von Salza, Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, acquired the ruins with the idea of making the castle the Grand Master's residence. In 1271 the Teutonic Knights surrendered the castle to the Mameluke Sultan Baibars on the promise of free passage with their archives and the treasury of the Order

The castle can be reached only on foot, by either of two routes, and stands on a spur of rock above the deep cleft of the Wadi Quren

· Fly to Ben Gurion International Airport outside Tel Aviv (http://www.iaa.gov.il/Rashat/en-US/Airports/BenGurion/ )

·Take a Direct Train from the airport to Nahariyah – trains run every hour (in peak times every ½ hour) - journey time 2 hours. The trains are fully airconditioned and generally very comfortable. ( More info and time tables here: http://www.israrail.org.il/english/index.html )

· If possible we would be happy to meet you at the train station and offer a lift to the property (literally a 5 minute ride to the villa.) In addition there are taxis continuosly available at the station.

. Cars may be rented easily in Nahariyah- 5-10 minutes walk from the villa(for example http://www.sixt.com/main/car-rental/Israel/Nahariya/index.php)

· Alternatively: A car can may be rented at the airport and driven to Nahariyah. The best route is for the most part on a high-speed motorway (Route 6- Toll Road- costs approx 25 NIS) and depending on traffic can take 2 to 3 hours.
