Farmhouse | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Gozo is the Mediterranean's best kept secret, a tranquil and idyllic island of beauty. In contrast to Malta, Gozo is peaceful and more “laid back” with beautiful rural green landscapes. An island of exceptional character, Gozo promises a truly authentic experience. From beaches to churches, museums to heritage sites, “festa's” to local cuisine, Gozo is a unique gem. Located in a quiet spot in Nadur, Ta Silvana is a short walk to nearby restaurants, bars and shops. It is also in close proximity to the largest and pretty sandy beach, Ramla Bay and an easy 10 minute drive from the capital, Victoria.
WELCOME TO TA' SILVANA, BY JULES
“Ta Silvana is built of traditional Gozitan stone and is particularly spacious and well apportioned. Tucked in a private location in Nadur, it is a comfortable family home with a spacious pool terrace. The owner, Joe has a local carpentry business. He has made all of Ta Silvana's wooden bedroom and dining room furniture to a high standard. He take's pride in the hospitality Ta Silvana continues to offer its guests and the good value this represents. Ta Silvana was the first property we enlisted as part of the Jules Gozo Holidays experience”, JULES
The entrance leads straight into a generous living area with a fully equipped kitchen and dining room. Patio doors open onto a generous ground terrace with a pool. An ideal haven to soak up the full day's sun and relax. The terrace is walled and offers privacy as it isn't overlooked. A great opportunity for a barbeque.
A traditional stone corridor leads from the living area to a family bathroom and a double bedroom, with patio doors to the pool terrace.
A wide stone staircase leads to the first floor where you will find a further 3 bedrooms, each with 2 single beds, a 2nd family bathroom and a shower room. Each of the bedrooms are well furnished and spacious. Joe's craftsmanship is of an excellent standard, providing guests with quality and comfort.
There is a seating area with views on the second terrace and a stone staircase leading to a third roof terrace. From here, you can take in spectacular views of the island and its coastline.

JULES GOZO HOLIDAYS
We are a family business who specialise in authentic farmhouse holidays on idyllic Gozo.
In 2007 we purchased a traditional farmhouse of charm and character. Today, guests continue to enjoy the peace, comfort and hospitality of Ta' Rena as a base to experience Gozo. Inspired by feedback, we now offer holidays at a number of other farmhouses. Our approach is the same. A personal service and five star approach to organise a holiday rental tailored to you. Handpicked farmhouses, all familiar to us, will have local character, home comforts, excellent amenity and a peaceful location to enjoy the riches of Gozo.
JULES also offers an extended holiday experience. Choose car transfer from the airport to the door, car or bike hire, special occasions or excursions organised e.g. Vineyard tours, accommodation for large parties, receptions, group activities, nature walks, a lesson in Gozitan cuisine and more.
Our dedicated and experienced team is U.K. and Gozo based. Myself (JULES) and partner, Chris, liaise with the team on Gozo, led by Peter Pisani. Well regarded and fondly known, Peter is our “Gozitan concierge”. He's commended by guests for his local knowledge, expertise and customer service. Whatever you're ideal holiday we hope the team at Jules Gozo Holidays can help organise it.
The Island of Gozo region
Gozo, popularly known as the island of Calypso, is the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago. Together with the smaller island of Comino and mainland Malta, the three islands form the Republic of Malta. Gozo lies 5km North West of Malta and involves a 25-minute ferry crossing from the mainland.
With 27 000 residents, Gozo’s main town, Victoria, is surrounded by 13 smaller towns and villages. It has a selection of sandy bays and seafront villages. Restaurants hug the turquoise Mediterranean and serve local cuisine such as rabbit, sheep’s cheese and fresh local fish. There are two five star hotels and a number of fine dining restaurants (Ta Frenc near Malsaforn is one). Malsaforn is a very pretty bay, 10 – 15 minutes away by car. The bay is surrounded by many restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean where fish and local food is excellent.
Gozo has an air of tranquillity and peacefulness about it. It holds onto its deep roots and traditions. Very different to Malta, commercial life has evaded Gozo where tradition and a farming is resilient.
The Island provides some of the most alluring dive sights in the Mediterranean, the Blue Hole, Fungus Rock and the inland sea to name a few. Here, the Mediterranean Sea is at its richest, with abundant marine life, dramatic underwater scenery, caves, reefs, drop offs and visibility often in excess of 40 metres.
Gozo is famous for recreational diving and divers come from all over the world to enjoy the experience. Diving in Gozo is famous for the underwater visibility, warm temperatures and stunning underwater scenery. Submarine caves, chimneys and tunnels together with breathtaking drop offs and the flourishing marine life make Gozo the Mediterranean's best Dive destination.
There are more than 50 known dive sites. Since Gozo is a small island, dive sites are never more than a 20 minute drive or boat ride away. Many of the best dive sites are accessible from the shore. It's a matter of parking the dive truck, kitting up and walking into the sea, immediately finding drop offs. Boats are used to access dive sites beneath

Every town has its own church. In the summer months each village celebrates its own “festa”. A festival where the streets and squares are decorated spectacularly and remind us of Christmas with their lights and lively atmosphere.
Finding a destination with the right weather conditions always makes choosing easier. Malta has a very comfortable climate, the perfect reason to pack your bags and look forward to soaking up the warm inviting Mediterranean sun.
June is an excellent time of year to come as the summer season is just getting into full swing and it is not too hot. July through to September are the peak summer months, the temperature on average is about 30C/86F. August is the hottest of these months; the temperature soars to above 40C/104F.
On the other hand, October is a great time to visit as the temperatures are bearable, the sun still shines, but the island is settling back to a normal pace again. The coldest months are December to February, with a temperature of about 15C/59F. It can be quite wet during these months, including November, but you will often find that there are beautiful sunny days in between. There is an average of about 5-6 hours of sunshine at this time of year.
Nadur is one of the most picturesque towns in Gozo with a population of 4000 and is the second largest on the island after Victoria.
It’s renowned for the ‘Feast of Nadur’. – Mnarja – celebebrated 29th June every year. The baroque Parish Church, dedicated to apostles Saint Peter and Paul dominates Nadur’s skyline and is believed one of Gozo’s best baroque architectural masterpeices. The night of 29th June is the feast of the village patron saints, marked by fireworks and a large family ‘party’.
The town is renowned for its enchanting countryside views, with green valleys and peaceful bays of San Blas and Dhalet Qorrot. Nadur actually means, “look out” as most of the island and beyond can be seem from the village. And what better place can you take advantage of this? Ta’ Silvana's roof terrace provides scenic veiews of the island and its coastline.
Places to Visit in Nadur:
* Nadur Parish Church
* San Blast Bay
* Dahlet Qorrot Bay
* Ramla Bay
* Ta’ Sopu Tower
* Kenuna Tower
Beaches in Nadur:
There are 3 beaches in Nadur, San Blast bay, Ramla bay and Dahlet Qorrot bay
This beach is without a doubt the best on the island. Unlike others, its sand is red, the water is lovely and clear, and although you may find that on part of it there are quite a few pebbles and what looks like a few sharp rocks, these are in fact the last remains of a ruin.
