Annsborough House was refurbished during 2008 and has been returned to its former splendour.The house sits on a large garden in the middle of the Kildare countryside surronded by sheep,cow's and horses for a truly luxurious getaway .Privacy is assured with private electronic gates and a hugh garden to wander.The house was built for the De Courcy Ireland Wheeler family in the 1820,s who were the in laws of the famous findlater family. The famous Buck Wayley spent a few years roaming the house and its grounds.This is an opportuinity to rewind the past and discover what it was like to live in one of irelands finest period country houses. You will have the house all to yourselves for your stay and make yourself at home. We can provide a butler, maid and housekeeper service if requested to do so to make your stay truly majical.The house has four large double bedrooms all with double beds and two bathrooms on the first floor. On the ground floor the house has three reception rooms and a large open plan traditional kitchen with the original AGA cooker. The drawing room is ideal for guests to relax and unwind. Log fires blazing relaxing in your favourite chair.
The gardens are very large with ample space for children to run around. An outdoor barbecue is available for that special treat. We can also cater for events and parties.
Private maid service and prepared meals are available upon request.
Annsborough mews house is also available on the grounds of annsborough house and can be rented separately. This is a three bed stables building located in the courtyard and refurbished in 2008 to the highest standards. A large open plan kitchen and double height living area make this a wonderful home from home with all the charm and character of a 19th century mews. Stone clad with wooden beams this is a truly magnificent holiday rental.

The East Ireland / County Kildare region
Co Kildare is known the world over for its horse racing and breeding. There is plenty of choice when it comes to choosing which racecourse to attend. Golf is a must with the K Club only 5 minds by car home to the Ryder Cup. Equestrian facilities are available with several centres of excellence close by. We are also only 1 hour by car to the city centre of Dublin where shopping, restaurants and Dublin's famous theatres are available.
Naas / Robertstown area
Equestrian centres are available in Robertstown and the canal boasts fishing , boating and canoeing. Co Kildare's festivals include Punchestown in may and the derby at the Curragh in the summer. Lullymore activity centre is only 5 mins by car and a perfect adventure if you have children.
Walks along the barrow way by the canal are an excellent way of exploring the countryside. You can also hire a boat on the canal which will take you all the way to the Shannon river.
How to get there
From Dublin Airport only 1 hour by car. The ferry ports of Dun Laoghaire and Rosslare are only 1.5 hours away. Car hire is essential for travel.

Further details indoors: Situated in the countryside this is opportunity to have your own period country house to yourself for a week long visit or for just a weekend away. Shooting, fishing and of course horse riding are a must in county Kildare. A short stroll to the pretty village of Robertstown and take a boat on the canal or one of the many canalside walks Or watch the time go by feeding the ducks. Fishing by the canal is also a popular pastime. You never know , get the barbecue ready dinner is served.
Further details outdoors: Giant Beech,Oak,Sycamore and Elms are amoungst the mighty 150 year old trees planted in the gardens. Privacy is assured within a walled garden around the house and the gardens are perfect for walking or relaxing and the kids will have a ball. Walking and cycling is very popular in this area with dedicated walks along the canal. Boating or Canoeing on the canal only down the hill are available upon request. Horse riding is a very popular in County Kildare so please let us know and we can book you in locally. Beginners and advanced riders all welcome.
