The Coastal South Carolina region
Myrtle Beach - Miles of sandy beaches, sunshine and great golf courses! The Grand Strand has numerous water parks, go-karting race tracks, miniature golf and amusement parks for those with energy to burn. There are also beautiful gardens as well as many landmarks and historical sights to see for those looking for more tranquil past times.
Murrells Inlet - This historic fishing village offers deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, parasailing, jet ski rentals, and world-class seafood restaurants. Spend the evening listening to one of the many bands playing live along the boardwalk.
Huntington Beach State Park - Consisting of three miles of unspoiled beach along with picnic and recreational areas, located between Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island. Free access and usage available to Wachesaw Residents.
Brook Green Gardens – In 1931, Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, founded Brookgreen Gardens, a non-profit garden museum, to preserve the native flora and fauna and display objects of art within that natural setting. Today, Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark with the most significant collection of figurative sculpture in a beautiful setting, full of outstanding gardens and other attractions.
Broadway at the Beach - Hard Rock Cafe and Ripley's Aquarium are just a few of the exciting attractions at this entertainment, shopping and dining complex.
Tanger Outlet Shopping Malls - Among the many shopping malls in Myrtle Beach, there are two Tanger Outlet Malls offering the best outlet prices on the finest brand merchandise and designer labels. With everything from clothing, jewelery, accessories and shoes to speciality shops, you won't believe the prices!
Georgetown is straight out of the 1950's with a board walk , cafes and restaurants to delight everyone. Georgetown was named a 2005 All American County in the National Civic League's All American City Award the nation's longest running and most prestigious civic recognition program.
Boone Hall Plantation - Made famous in 'Gone with the wind'. In 1743, the son of Major John Boone planted live oak trees, arranging them in two evenly spaced rows. This spectacular approach to his home symbolizes southern heritage and will take root in your memory for many years to come. It would take two centuries for the massive, moss-draped branches to meet overhead, forming today's natural corridor and a scene that NBC Daytime television says is "a must see stop on any trip to Charleston, S.C.”
Isle of Palms - Breathtaking! Is the word that comes to mind as one drives up the Connector Bridge and beholds the salt marsh, the Intracoastal Waterway, the beach and ocean surrounding the Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
Charleston - Charleston is one of America's oldest cities and is well worth the day trip to visit the old historic area, the battery and the markets. The sweet grass reed baskets are a local specialty. Charleston is located near the middle of South Carolina's coast at the point "where the Ashley and Cooper Rivers meet to form the Atlantic Ocean." It is the state's second largest city and the county seat of Charleston County. Charleston was originally called Charles Town (in honor of King Charles II of England), and its nickname is "The Holy City."
Myrtle Beach – Great for families as well as golfers. In addition to it's numerous golf courses, there's endless entertainment and attractions for the family - both on and off the beach. Naturally, the fun in Myrtle Beach always starts on the beach, the area's most popular attraction. Sixty miles of sandy beaches provide ample opportunities of things to do such as water sports, shell collecting and more. But there's a wide range of other activities awaiting you. Test your game on the area's many miniature golf courses or cool off at one of the area's water or amusement parks . Take a cruise aboard a riverboat, go it alone on a pontoon boat or head out on a banana boat with the entire family for the thrill of a lifetime.

"Great place to stay"
We had a fantastic time staying here and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to others. The two bedroom apartment was the perfect size for us and had everything that we needed (Kitchen with dishwasher & washing machine). The nearby Huntington beach state park was a 3 mile drive away and a beautiful beach to visit. I would recommend Huntington or Surfside beaches instead of the very busy and commercial Myrtle beach. Overall we had a fantastic vacation and hope to visit again very soon.
