The Sal Island region
Year round sunshine in the Cape Verde Islands. Less than 6 hours direct flight from the UK. Ex Portuguese colony, now independent and dependent on tourism. The reason Sal has grown as a tourist destination over the years is its wonderful sandy beaches, dry climate, warm temperatures, and friendly people. For a laid-back holiday, where you can relax, this is the place. Only 10 minutes transfer time from airport to the villa.
Murdeira area
Murdeira Bay is on the west coast of Sal. It is the first resort of its type to be completed in the Cape Verde Islands and as such benefits from being completed and generally unaffected by building work which is going on in so much of Sal. With water storage and a generator, roads, plants and services in place it is in a unique position.
Just 10 minutes away is Santa Maria, the tourist town with numerous bars, restaurants. Or Espargos, the capital of Sal.

How to get there
Direct flights less than 6 hours from London Gatwick and Manchester UK. Direct flights from France, Portugal, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, USA. Arrive at Sal airport and head south for 10 minutes until you reach Murdeira Bay. Taxi from airport about 6 euros.

Further details indoors: Extremely well equipped villa. Futons from Notting Hill Gate, Denby china, bread maker, coffee machine and cafetiere, plentiful teak garden furniture, ironing board, iron. Hair dryers in bedrooms. Extensive inventory upon request. Most items have been shipped out personally by the owners in two containers and air freight as these cannot be purchased in the Cape Verde Islands. We purchased the house from German owners who had lived in it for four years, but we still found that we needed to add a lot more to turn it from a house into a home.
Fine Egyptian cotton sheets from John Lewis sheets are provided, as well as bath towels, beach towels, tea towels, table cloths and napkins. Have a picnic on the beach - picnic crockery including melamine mugs, plastic glasses, keep cool bag and beach mats.
Further details outdoors: The front garden is stocked with hibiscus, which flowers year-long and various tropical plants. Have breakfast on east facing balcony, lunch on the roof terrace, evening drinks watching the sun going down over the ocean and dinner on the terrace by hibiscus. Lots of space to store any sports equipment you may have such as wind or kite surfers, surf boards. Down the side of the house is a covered area, with tables and chairs so you can eat in the shade too. Washing lines and pegs. Outside shower and sink useful for wet sandy people coming back from the beach, or preparing fish/food for the barbecue. Within the resort, there is an Astroturf tennis court (floodlit), gym, and large swimming pool. With the ocean so near, we often swim/snorkel in the sea.

We will send a rental agreement, together with inventory. Payment required at time of booking. Possibility to pay with credit card (2% surcharge) or debit card.
