About the home

Ocean lovers seeking a haven to relax, will find this probably the most equipped holiday rental villa in Sal, Cape Verdes. Sunbathers will enjoy the private ocean-view sunny terraces with comfortable teak chaise lounges with the sounds of waves and birds, - fishing enthusiasts can catch fish nearby. Enjoy the swimming/snorkelling in the ocean or the large swimming pool.

Restaurant, bar, grocery store, swimming pool within 300 yards, so if you don't want to cook you can eat all your meals out. If you like waking up to the aroma of freshly baked bread, there is an array of kitchen equipment including bread-maker and ice cream maker. Restaurants and shops in Santa Maria and Espargos 10 minutes by car/bus.

Stroll around Murdeira at your leisure - it was completed some 9 years ago and is lived in by holiday owners (French, Belgian, German, Austrian, British, Danish) , and full-time residents including locals giving a good mix of cultures and a Cape Verde flavour. No all inclusive here!

Futons from Notting Hill Gate, blue Denby china, Panasonic bread maker, ice cream maker, food mixer, washing machine, dishwasher, electric coffee maker, coffee grinder, cafetiere, electric grill which can be used outside, plentiful quality teak garden furniture, ironing board, iron. Stainless barbecue with lid. Hair dryers in bedrooms. Denon tuner/CD player. Cable TV. 19" flat-screen TV/DVD in sitting room, TV and DVD in main bedroom. Nearly every item has been chosen and shipped by owner as these cannot be purchased in the Cape Verde Islands. WIFI available for a fee via reception.

Fine Egyptian cotton sheets from John Lewis are provided, as well as bath towels, beach towels, tea towels, table cloths, trays and napkins. Have a picnic on the beach - picnic crockery including melamine mugs, plastic glasses, keep cool bag and beach mats.

The front garden is stocked with hibiscus, which flowers year-long and various tropical plants. Have breakfast on east facing balcony, lunch on the roof terrace, enjoy evening drinks watching the sun dipping down into the ocean and dine in the warm outdoor dining area by hibiscus. Ample comfortable teak garden furniture and sun parasols. Hammock. Lots of space to store any equipment you may have such as wind or kite surfers, surf boards. A variety of temperatures outdoors, shaded/unshaded so you can find the right one for you.

Washing lines and pegs; things take no time to dry. Outside shower and sink. Within Murdeira complex there is a large swimming pool and two children's pools. With the ocean so near, we often swim/snorkel in the sea. Exterior doors fitted with oiled mahogany shutters, and all windows fitted with insect netting.

Minimum rental period 1 week. Not suitable for children under 7. Also available a 3+1 bedroom seafront villa accommodating up to 7 people within 200 yards. Changeover day by agreement with owners. Includes beginning and end cleaning, and weekly cleaning for rental periods longer than a week. To improve the level of service for our guests, we employ a maid dedicated to this villa, and a villa manager who lives in the complex - both are Cape Verdean.

Conditions

Online reservation request. Payment required at time of booking. Normal rental period is for 1 or 2 weeks, longer on request. We can arrange car hire at favourable rates, transfers, visas, wine delivery and free starter packs. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that the information given in this advertisement is accurate and up to date, and prices correct, we cannot warrant that this is the case. Normally the villa has items (pasta, sugar, tea, coffee, spices) water, some drink in it, to make you feel more at home.
DISCOUNTS FOR DOG LOVERS. Up until June 2012 two lovely beach dogs are staying in Sal until their paperwork is in order for them to leave for their new home in Germany. The Barlavento Islands / Sal Island region

Year round sunshine in the Cape Verde Islands. Less than 6 hours direct flight from the UK. Ex Portuguese colony, now independent and dependent on tourism.

Sal has grown as a tourist destination over the yearsdue to its wonderful sandy beaches, dry climate, warm temperatures, abundant fish and friendly people. For a laid-back holiday, where you can relax, this is the place. Only 10 minutes transfer time from airport to the villa.

The Murdeira area

Murdeira Bay is on the west coast of Sal. It is the first resort of its type to be completed in the Cape Verde Islands and as such benefits from being completed and generally unaffected by building work which is going on in some of Sal. With water storage and a generator, roads, plants and services in place it is in a unique quiet position.

Just 10 minutes away is Santa Maria, the tourist town with numerous bars, restaurants. Or Espargos, the capital of Sal.

Direct flights less than 6 hours from London Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester UK. Direct flights from Paris, Lisbon, Brussels, Amsterdam, Germany, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Italy. Arrive at Sal (SID) airport and head south for 10 minutes until you reach Murdeira Bay. Taxi from airport about 8 euros. Transfer time about 10 minutes.
