The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The autonomous region of Murcia lies in the southernmost of the Spanish mainland. It borders Castile-La Mancha in the north, the region of Valencia in the east, Andalusia in the west, and the Mediterranean sea in the south.
The mountainous scenery of the region is full of foothills that roll in from the Penibetica and Subbetica ranges. The El Caruche, Espuna, La Pila and Ricota sierras are all over 1000 metres high, are full of pine forests that add to natural beauty of the region.
The rivers are short and irregular, given the close proximity of the sierras to the sea, and the low rainfall of the area. The coastline of Murcia is characterised by it's sandy beaches, and it's beautiful natural wonder the Mar Menor sea.
Murcia / Campos del Rio area
Murcia city is 20 minutes drive away with the magnificent cathedral, theatres, museums, art galleries, shops, and it's plazas, cafes and restaurants are well worth a visit. Mula is also 20 minutes drive and has a market on Saturdays which is near the old castle ruins.
Cartagena is an old sea port full of fine buildings, museums, Roman ruins, castle ruins, and an ocean liner promenade and marina, nearer to home is the typical Spanish village of Campos Del Rio, it has it's market on Wednesday mornings, and also has tapas bars and restaurants.
In July it holds a religious festival, in fact through out the summer the surrounding villages hold their festivals at various times, and all are invited. There are numerous golf courses within easy driving distance from the villa, Altoreal [Dave Thomas design] and La Torre, Elle Valle, [Jack Nicholas design] to mention a few.
How to get there
Fly to either Murcia (MJV) or Alicante (ALC) airports with low cost airlines. Collect your hire car from the airport, Murcia 45 mins Alicante 60 mins on good dual carriageway roads.

Large terraced area surrounds the pool where you can relax in the sun or the shade of the pergola, totally private first floor solarium with further magnificent views of the countryside.

Landscaped Mediterranean style gardens with fruit trees, palms, bougainvillea etc. There is ample parking behind the villa in the 2200m plot with the added security of remote controlled gates.

The villa will suit families or couples and can sleep 8 comfortably and 10 if the bed settee is utilized.
Two bedrooms have enough room for cots to include 2 toddlers if needs be therefore 12 persons can be catered for.
Unfortunately the villa is not wheelchair friendly so please take this into consideration.
The pool is 1.5m deep and has no deep end so diving head first is not recommended and young children must be supervised at all times whilst using the pool.
No smoking in the villa, but outside is at your own descretion, Sorry no pets allowed.
Conditions
A deposit will be required as soon as you decide you would like to rent the villa, and the outstanding amount to be paid one month before arrival, if you are a late booking, ie less than one month before your arrival date, then the full amount will be required.

There is a welcome pack included if you arrive late, and cannot get to the supermarket in the local village until the following morning.
