The Western Australia region
Perth has a mixture of the Calafornia and Mediterrean climates, with mild winters and hot dry summers.Perth is the sunniest capital in Australia with an average of eight hours sunshine a day.The skies above Perth are often bright blue without a cloud in the sky.Combine the warm weather and beautiful beaches and it's easy to see why so many people enjoy the outdoor lifestyle.
The summer months are hot with an average temperature of 29 degrees celsius during the day,and 17 degrees at night. The warm summer days are cooled down by the Fremantle doctor ,a stronge breeze that blows in fron the ocean. This provides an exellent wind for windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing on the Swan river.
The winter months are from June to August and are mild, with an average temperature of 18 degrees during the day,and 9 degrees at night. The wettest month is July. The rain comes hard and quickly, and will be followed in many instances with sunny periods.

"A couples delightful retreat!"
On arrival we thought we were in the middle of an estate miles from anywhere, but soon discovered we were within walking distance from the most amazing beach, and two lovely parks. Many shopping centres were within 10 minutes drive, including Whitfords Mall, Hilllarys boat Harbour with its vibrant shops and restaurants and the highway was within easy reach that took us everywhere!
These are the amenities that we had in this accommodation that we did not have collectively in the six other homes we experienced during this holiday around Australia :
Internet access free
Table tennis, darts, body boards, snorkelling equipment, beach umbrella, extra fridge
TV with satellite channels including movies
Breakfast supplies on arrival including cereals, juice, bread, spreads, milk, coffee, tea bags
The most amazing outside area, with wonderful chair cushions and a day bed, sun loungers overlooking the largest holiday pool I have seen!
Balcony on which to enjoy the magnificent coastal sunsets.
This is a two story property, with garage and kitchen downstairs, lounge (very small) bedroom and bathroom (both large) and dining/computer room. If you don't like stairs don't book this house, but we soon got used to the lay out and it didn't bother us. Everything is kept to a very high standard. You don't feel that you are staying in a "letting " property, but in someone's very well cared for home.
Lesley and Shane were very kind to us when I was ill, taking us to the hospital etc. and were not phased when we knocked their door at night for this event! We felt very well looked after for the last leg of our three month holiday and would highly recommend this property.

"Very comfortable, well equipped and conveniently situated"
Welcoming from the minute we arrived, Sunset Lodge really felt like home for the four nights we stayed there. Considering that it is adjacent to the family house, we were amazed at the privacy we had. Clean and very comfortable with nice quality furnishings. No space for eating in the kitchen, so any meals had to be taken upstairs, but not really a problem. Lovely beaches close by but also only a short drive from Perth, Freemantle or Swan Valley. Lesley was exceptionally helpful when we asked for assistance.

"Well equipped at good beach location"
From the moment we arrived to find the kitchen stocked with food to keep us going on our first day, to the moment we left and our suitcases were looked after while we visited the beach, we enjoyed our stay at The Lodge.
The house was in a great location, very close to the park, and a short walk to the best beach we found in the Perth area. It had everything we could have wanted - TV with many paid-for channels, computer with internet, bikes with water bottles, snorkelling gear, beach towels and a collection of books and toiletries.
The view from the balcony was lovely, and while the pool was a little chilly to spend a lot of time in, it was clean and always available for use, alongside the barbecue, sunloungers and outdoor seating.
Hard to find anything to fault it for, this exceeded our expectations and we had a lovely stay, thanks :-)
