About this location

The Island of Malta region

The seaside town of Msida is found midway between Sliema and Valletta. It is just two kilometres away from Sliema and two kilometres from Valletta. It is very efficiently connected by bus to Sliema, Valletta and many other locations. Originally a fishing village, Msida is known for its expansive yacht marina, the University of Malta campus and, being also Malta's financial district, for its many restaurants, pizzerias and eateries. Many TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) schools are located in this area. The area is just seven kilometres from the Malta International Airport.

The apartment is situated within a very smart block in a very quiet residential area, which is elevated from sea level, as a result of which the apartment enjoys expansive views over Sliema, Saint Julians, Valletta and other parts of the island. The block is situated just 100 metres away from the HSBC international call centre which operates on a 24 x 7 basis thereby ensuring that the area enjoys frequent and excellent bus connections. The yacht marina, Strand promenade and Msida promenade are just ten minutes walk away.

There are some very nice and reasonably priced restaurants situated in Msida / Ta' Xbiex, most of which are on the promenade, including the award winning Mamma Mia, Guze' brasserie, the West End, La Vela Italian restaurant, the Garam Masaala Indian restaurant, the Busy Bee caffetteria (which is probably Malta's best and oldest dolceria well known for its speciality Maltese ricotta cannoli and other sweet delicacies), Pavilion Palace Chinese restaurant, Irrera, the Black Pearl (sited within the historical sailing ship of the same name now safely anchored on land), the Royal Malta Yacht Club restaurant and the Ta' Xbiex waterpolo club restaurant. One can also eat in one of the good value eating places outside the University of Malta campus, just five minutes walk from the apartment, including New York Best, Pizza by Luca, Krepree, Pasha, Fattoush Turkish and Meet & Eat. In short, plenty of eating out options to choose from within just 10 to 15 minutes walk from the apartment.

"Apartamento muy bonito y equipado"

Apartamento muy bonito y perfectamente equipado. El casero muy amable y dispuesto a ayudarte en cualquier momento. Recomendable sobre todo si alquilas coche, ya que no hay muchas lineas de autobús cerca.

"Well equipped modern aparment in suburb"

Very well equipped, new and stylish, bright, clean appartment, you will find everything you need. Both rooms have separate air conditioners. We arrived late in the evening, so owner Mario took us from airport (that service costs extra 25Eur). On arrival found welcome basket with water and wine, also some coffee, sugar, salt, washing detergent and so on. Location is OK, near Mater Dei Hospital and University, where you can find big bus stop hub to all directions (5min by foot), also there is bus stop to Sliema near apparment. Valetta old town is 5-10 min away with car. No problem to find free parking space near apparment. Good food store less then 100m away. Also 50m away is really great kids playground. Wifi works great. Building is new and has elevator.
Not very far from big street, so there is some noise in the morning...

"Lovely bright apartment"

Stayed here in apartment 10 for 16 nights and overall it was an enjoyable stay. I came to malta to do a 2 week placement at the hospital so the location is ideal for that, only a 10-15 walk to the hospital. Upon arrival apartment was clean and bright despite this apartment not having a balcony and it facing an inner yard. (apartment 12 is with the balcony) Very thoughtful of the owners (Anna and Mario) to have bought wine, coffee and biscuits and a few other things to welcome me. Overall i would stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Only thing that caught me off guard was the fireworks every weekend but this is a maltese tradition celebrated every weekend throughout the whole of malta in the summer so you'll hear and see them everywhere!
