About the home

This cosy cottage is situated in the seaside village of Moville in Ireland's stunning Inishowen peninsula. It is close to excellent restaurants and traditional pubs with Irish music. The village itself has a small beach and a fishing pier, while nearby there are beautiful blue-flag beaches. Derry city is half an hour away and offers superb history, nightlife and restaurants.

The cottage itself has been refurbished and is extremely clean, comfortable and cosy with an open fire in the sitting room.It is approximately 100 years old, and the sensitive recent refurbishment means that it is very comfortable whilst retaining all its original features (such as the oak beams in the sitting room and the traditional fireplace). There are two double bedrooms upstairs and a sofa-bed in the sitting room. The kitchen is on the ground floor leading out to a sunny patio area with outside sitting and eating area surrounded by pretty plants.

The property has a sunny patio area to the rear, leading out from the kitchen. It has a dining area and is surrounded by pretty plants. This area gets sunshine all day from 11 a.m. until sunset. Garden furniture includes a wooden table with four chairs, plus three extra camping chairs and a barbecue. Parking space is at the front of the house.

The Donegal region

Moville is a seaside village in the beautiful peninsula of Inishowen. There are 3 blue-flag beaches within 2 miles of the village. Derry city is half an hour's drive away and is full of history, entertainment and very friendly people. A ferry can be taken across to Magilligan in Northern Ireland and the beach or Portrush and Portstewart. The house is located within the village itself and is within walking distance of restaurants, bars and Moville pier. The village is peaceful, but also has enough fun to keep you happy.

The Moville area

Moville is a lively village with lots of amenities, for example the children's park and play area. Good restaurants include Rosatto's, The Foyle Hotel, and The Town Clock. Rawdons bar is very traditional with a shop in the front and Irish music in the back. The town has a small beach and fishing pier. The nearest golf course is 1km away, or you can try Ballyliffin Golf Course, one of the top 10 courses in Ireland.

Flights to Derry city airport are available with Ryanair from London, Dublin and many other airports.
Derry City train station has trains from Belfast and Dublin.
A bus service runs from Derry to Moville with Bus Eireann and Ulster Bus.
Driving from Derry, follow the A2 to Muff in Co. Donegal then the R238 to Moville (approx. half an hour's journey in total).
If travelling from the Giant's Causeway direction in Northern Ireland, you can catch a ferry from Magilligan to Greencastle in Donegal. Moville is a five-minute drive from Greencastle.
