Famously described by Dylan Thomas as 'the loveliest village in England', The Cuttlefish is the perfect spot to soak it all in. Inside, this vintage inspired period property has been styled to an exceptional standard. With dark wooden floors throughout, heritage radiators and light spacious rooms, each window offers a stunning coastal aspect. The sitting room is a sophisticated mix of unique antique finds sat alongside the latest in entertainment technology including Smart TV, Blu-Ray player and Bluetooth MP3 Dock. The epitome of warmth and comfort, there is also a crackling wood-burner to warm your toes.
As the heart of the house, the kitchen also has a wood-burner positioned snugly between dual aspect windows. If you're lucky you might spot a dolphin swimming past, at the very least a seal relaxing on the island. The kitchen alone is an experience in high end luxury. With a large traditional farmhouse table and range cooker it's truly in keeping with its coastal location. Adorned with Le Creuset cookware, Dualit appliances and a retro Gorenje fridge you could be forgiven for thinking you'd stepped into The Great British Bake Off!
The Cuttlefish has two fabulous boutique bedrooms. The master bedroom is the epitome of boutique living. With its king-size bed, Paris pendant lamps and traditional armoire, this French inspired room is truly exquisite. The space is flooded with light through the large sash windows. Offering sea and garden views, it is a sumptuous haven of peace and tranquility. Equal in comfort and luxury, the light and airy twin bedroom has a quirky style all of its own. With original vintage brass beds, these large singles can be pushed together to make a super king-size bed. With bespoke handmade mattresses and luxurious touch of down and cotton linen, you'll never want to get out of bed!
The first floor bathroom is truly the icing on the cake. It has all the charm of a traditional Victorian bathroom yet offers top of the range 21st century luxury. Not only does it have a huge walk in drench head shower, it also holds a glorious roll top bath positioned perfectly under the windows allowing you to take in the views whilst bathing.
Across the footpath at the front of the house lies The Cuttlefish's private gated garden; a lush exotic paradise spread across three levels. The views from the garden are unrivalled and make this property completely unique. At Christmas take advantage of the cast iron fire pit and enjoy the famous Mousehole Lights. In the summer months try an al fresco dining experience making full use of the BBQ or simply get lost in a book gazing out to sea whilst sat in the swing under the apple tree.
Please be aware, like many properties in Mousehole, The Cuttlefish is set on a footpath, therefore there is no vehicle access. It is usually possible to do a bag drop close by, and then it's a short walk up the hill to the property.

We had a great stay. The house is beautiful and the views are stunning. It was a chilly winter weekend so we were more than happy to sit by the fire and admire the views in such elegant surroundings. But Mousehole was lovely when we ventured out. Would thoroughly recommend.

"Stunning. Book it now!"
We enjoyed a glorious 5 days at The cuttlefish in August.
It was a joy to wake up to the sea views every morning...... A cup of coffee in the extremely well equipped kitchen looking out across the harbour. Checking emails on the reliable wifi, children entertaining themselves with board games and DVDs- perfect.
Then a stroll,or an 'adventure' as my 6 year old son called it, around beautiful Mousehole.
Narrow streets and endless winding pathways. The pathway to the house is steep and perfect for burning off the cream teas. (The Rock Pool cafe was our favourite). Next a trip to sandy Sennen cove and another excellent cafe. Returning to mousehole for sandcastle building on the harbour beach and commando rolling under the boat ropes for my son.
We also managed to squeeze in some rock pooling and a fun short walk across the fields at the back of The Cuttlefish. (There are plenty of walking maps in the original sideboard).
'2 fore street' is a delicious restaurant if you don't want to cook and the childrens menu includes the best sticky toffee pudding ever!
And at the end of everyday we got to return to the stunning Cuttlefish. To play family board games and curl up in front of a DVD in the separate and gorgeous living room, all while keeping one eye on the sea views. Then it was up to bed for a peaceful nights sleep on the extremely comfortable beds. The single beds in the second bedroom are extra wide so the kids were very happy and any adult sleeping here would be pleasantly surprised.
The garden across the path from The Cuttlefish is gorgeous and although we didn't use it often the views are spectacular. There is a tempting fire pit for cooler evenings and a large seating area for BBQs.
Like most houses in Mousehole you cannot park outside. But this makes for an extremely charming village and the harbour car park is two minutes walk away. As you look out over the sea choose the car park on the right of the harbour and you will find a very cheery gentleman who will sell you a weeks permit for £15. We never had any problem parking.
This house has everything. Including a walk-in shower and roll top bath.It was been lovingly and beautifully restored. The style and cleanliness is impeccable. You will feel at home from the moment you step thru the door.
So don't hesitate,book it now.
Camilla, the owner,is incredibly warm and super efficient. My security deposit was returned immediately.
Thank you Camilla for a truly magical holiday.

"A bit of paradise in the UK"
We had a fantastic stay here - the Cuttlefish is beautifully decorated; fantastic kitchen, comfortable living room, gorgeous bedrooms, living room... all with stunning sea views and everything you need for a fantastic stay. The garden is idyllic and we enjoyed many a glass of Prosecco watching the sun set over the sea and breakfast breathing in the sea views. You wouldn't think Mousehole was in the UK; white sandy beaches and turquoise water. Enjoy brilliant local food at 2 Fore Street, coastal walks, activities such as sailing, coasteering or just relaxing and watching the local kids swim diving in the harbour. We won't forget coming here.

"Stylish house with beautiful views in a pretty village."
It's always a relief when you walk through the door of a property and it's as good as the website looks! The house is stylish, light, well equipped and peaceful. Situated at the top of Mousehole I was thankful for luggage with wheels as you can't park your car near the property but it wasn't an issue and we may even feel fitter for it.
Loved the little touches such as the quality of the games and books and the furnishings are gorgeous. particularly coveting the lighting.
Mousehole is a friendly, quaint village close to fabulous beaches such as Porthcurno and Sennan if you love body boarding and surfing.
A lovely week had by all.

"Utterly stunning house in a beautiful town."
This is the best holiday rental we've ever stayed in. We were blown away by just how lovely everything was the moment we walked in, and it only kept getting better after that.
Getting in is a bit of a mission as many of Mousehole's streets, including the one on which the Cuttlefish stands, are really only steep footpaths. This makes the whole place incredibly quaint and tranquil. If you're coming by car you park nearby, carry your bags up the little path to the house, meeting some of Mousehole's famous friendly felines along the way, and step into an exquisitely presented period house. I couldn't get back to park the car quick enough, and the stress from the long drive dissolved in an instant.
The house is immaculate but feels relaxed. Because it's near the top of the town it has stunning views out to the bay and is handy for gorgeous cliff walks. And it's like the house knows what you're thinking before you've thought it. Music? There's a top-notch sound system that'll connect to any phone via bluetooth. Film and telly? There's a stock of Blu-ray/DVDs and smart TV that you can connect to your Netflix account. Cappuccino? There's a machine and enough decent ground coffee to get even the most caffeine-dependent fiends through the first couple of mornings. In fact, everything in the kitchen is well thought out, fantastically specced, and looks great. Pans are heavy-bottomed, knives are laser-sharp and even the salt and pepper grinder are the best we've ever used. Even the water by the bed—not only are there glasses but jugs. Jugs I tell you! The bedrooms are tranquil and comfortable, with amazing views, and the bathroom is stunning, with a huge roll-top bath and powerful shower.
One feature we were really glad of was the garden. They're a rarity in Mousehole apparently, and with this one you get to spread out over three tiers! Whether it's coffee and breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine and dinner in the evening, you feel really spoiled taking in the view in the sun-trap.
Mousehole itself, if you've never been, is fantastic. You might not even need that amazing kitchen as there are lots of great places to eat out, from fine dining to fish 'n' chips. There's also loads to do. We went on walks, on a boat trip in hope of spotting sharks, whales, dolphins and seals (we saw the latter, snoozing on the rock), and something called "coasteering" which is an exhilarating mix of climbing, cliff jumping and sea swimming. We also made time to lounge on a couple of beaches, obviously.
So... yeah! We absolutely loved it. The attention to detail and execution are exemplary, but never take away from the relaxed charm of the place. You can feel the love and care that's gone into this place from the moment you arrive to the moment you reluctantly leave.
