The Cornwall region

Cornwall's last secret! The far west of the County is arguably it's most interesting area, with many links to local legend, folklore and mysticality. This is Cornwall at its best, with its ever changing rugged coastline and hauntingly beautiful landscapes from Cape Cornwall through to Lands End, this is a area steeped in true Cornish History

Mousehole

Mousehole, renowned for its history in the Art world, is a beautiful ancient fishing village steeped in character and charm that has mainly remained unspoilt for centuries, with its narrow streets and cobbled lanes surrounding the picturesque harbour, it offers two small sandy beaches and a larger pebbled beach with rock pools just waiting to be explored!

Particularly magical at Christmas with its famous Christmas lights, it attracts visitors from miles around to enjoy the spectacular display and soak up the atmosphere

The village hosts numerous art galleries, potteries, excellent restaurants, nostalgic pubs and a village shop & post office.

There is a regular bus service, a scenic cycle path and has some of the most incredible & inspiring cliff walks nearby. It is just 2 miles from the larger & popular working fishing village of Newlyn, 3 miles west of the market town of Penzance & main train and bus links, and just a short drive to Lands End, Porthcurno (home to the famous Minack Theatre), Sennen (superb surf!!), Marazion and St Ives to name but a few.

"A cosy cottage in a pretty village"

We loved the location of the cottage and its neatness and cleanliness. We experienced problems with the size of the bed (double), lack of top sheet, the oven not working and the lack of instructions for the washing machine. In defence of the latter we must say that we have never used a front loading machine so were behind the eight-ball with no instructions. The lack of mobile reception was also a bit of an issue, but we did have WI-FI. The lounge room was well set up with very comfortable couches.
