# # The Mountshannon Arts Festival is an annual festival held at various locations in and around the beautiful lakeside village of Mountshannon.

Mountshannon

A delightful property located in the village of Mountshannon and 12 miles from the riverside village of Killaloe. This modern holiday home offers you a bright and spacious open plan living area and all ensuite bedrooms and front line view of lough Derg. On site there is access to a lakeside jetty and within walking distance Mountshannon offers you a newly built children's playground, pub and shop. The area is abound with activities such as golfing, fishing and historic attractions. Nearby Lough Derg is one of Ireland's biggest lakes and is a popular place for leisure boating, sailing and fishing.

Mountshannon village also has strong links with history and includes some excellent archaeology with-in short reach. Ring forts, Holy wells, Famine Graves and even a wedge tomb (Known locally as 'The Dolmen') can be found close by, but the most impressive historical site has to be Iniscearltra or Holy Island, a monastic settlement of great importance in ancient Ireland. The island is just a short boat trip from the village, and comprises of various churches, graveyards, a holy well and a selection of religious stone carving.

"Relaxing"

We booked this last minute but very glad we booked it. The house was outstanding the local people really friendly. A great place to just get away from it all. I am looking forward to coming back at so… More
