The Central Ireland / County Cavan region

Lough Sheelin is now an attractive lough to visit because of the size and quality of the trout that are caught there and the range of fly fishing techniques that may be used. Fishery scientists estimate that Sheelin has the largest trout carrying capacity of any lough in comparable size in Ireland - over 100,000 trout with at least 40,000 of them between 2 and 4lb.

If you are looking for some peace and quiet, why not take a restful fishing trip in the morning.
There's nothing quite like getting out when no one else is awake and casting a line with only the sound of your breathing and nature to keep you company.

Mountnugent / Lough Sheelin area

Five minutes drive from the cottage is the beautiful lakeside three star hotel “Crover House” . With a golf course which was built in 2000 has matured very well. It will test your skills with its par 3's. The greens are built to a very high standard USPGA specification.

Daggis Cottage is located in the tranquil heart of the Irish Countryside it is only 1 ½ hours from Dublin and 2 ½ hours from Belfast. Daggis cottage is the type of place to visit if you want to get away from it all. It has spectacular views of Lough Sheelin to make your holiday or short break the haven of relaxation that you require.
