The South West China region

Introduction of Mount Emei.

It is towering, beautiful, old and mysterious. Mt. Emei is like a huge green screen standing in the southwest of the Chengdu Plain. Looking its winding and beautiful figure, you will find that it resembles very much an eyebrow of a girl, from where its name. It is the highest one among all the famous sight-seeing mountains in China.

More about the famous culture, history and interesting things of Mount Emei:

- The martial art of China, Emei, Shaolin and Wudang, were the top 3 genres of Chinese martial art in ancient dynasties. The Emei style has the longest history, over 2500 years, being the birth place of Chinese martial art. Free martial art shows are performed at Emeishan during the peak seasons, holidays or celebration days.

- Hundreds of small and big temple, mostly Baddish but also some Tao, are located on the Holy Mountain. Some of them can be reached claiming 500 or more stairs; some others using only the bus and the cable cabin.

- The Emeishan Monkeys (Ling hou, a kind of monkeys) lives by leafs, flowers and fruits of the plants growing on the mountain. Those monkeys are protected animals in China.

Mount Emei

Mount Emei is located in the southwestern part of the Sichuan province, 7 kilometers from Emeishan city, 156 kilometers from Chengdu and 34 kilometers from Leshan city (Big Buddah).
