About the home
La Petite Maison offers families and small groups of friends a great combination of a ski convenient location and an authentic chalet ambiance.
In normal winter conditions at the end of the day you can ski back to a point just behind the chalet on the Pleney slopes. To go ski-ing in the morning a quick 100 metre walk to the same slope gets you on your way. Should you wish to start your ski day further afield in Avoriaz all the free ski buses stop about 200 metres from the chalet.
You can park up to two cars in front of the chalet.
The chalet is compact but well equipped and comfortable. There are 3 bedrooms, one, a double is on the groundfloor. The other two are on the first floor, one is a twin suitable for adults, the other is again a twin, but given the size of the room and the low celing height it is, in our opinion, only really suitable for children or teenagers. There is actually an additional pull out single bed under the sofa in the sitting room.
The chalet has one bathroom with a shower cubicle, the bathroom also houses the washing machine. There is a separate WC.
At the back of the chalet, looking out on the small enclosed garden, is a spacious, very well equipped dining-kitchen. The dining table seats 6 and the kitchen has an oven, a hob, a microwave and a dishwasher as well as a large fridge freezer.
The sitting room, at the front of the chalet, has a sofa and two easy chairs. A wall mounted flat screen TV shows both English and French TV or DVDs.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
The Haute Savoie covers the Northern part of the French Alps. This area has welcomed travellers and tourists in both Winter and Summer for centuries. Annecy, Chamonix and Geneva (just over the border in Switzerland) are perhaps the most well known of its towns.
In Summer the climate is warm and sunny, just right for an active holiday in the clear mountain air!
The Morzine area
Morzine is a centre for both Winter and Summer holidays. In Winter we attract skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. In Summer the mountains provide a fantastic backdrop to the town which offers many activities to the active holiday maker. Perhaps the most popular today is mountain biking, but we prefer the hiking, the pool and the tennis.

Morzine is close to Geneva airport, the journey from airport to chalet takes around an hour and ten minutes.

Car Hire
We recommend you visit www.holidayautos.co.uk who, as a broker, have arranged excellent deals with the main car hire companies at the airport. A small car costs around 170 euros per week and a 7 seater van around 400 euros per week.
Easycar no longer offer car hire at the airport themselves but now operate as a broker. They may be a useful alternative, so check their prices at www.easycar.com
Whoever you choose be sure to reserve your car for collection on the Swiss or International side of the airport. This is a much more convenient location than that on the French side.
Coach
There is a regular coach service from Geneva Airport to Morzine. This costs around 55 Euros for a return fare. Visit www.sat-leman.com for timetables and on line booking in English.
Ferries
If you choose to drive to Morzine and need to cross the channel we recommend you try www.speedferries.com, operating from Dover to Boulogne they offer excellent value and a quick crossing.
Trains
The nearest train station to Morzine is Thonon les Bains, from Paris the TGV runs down to Geneva. To reach Thonon you should change at Bellegarde. There is a coach service from Thonon to Morzine. Visit www.sat-leman.com for times

we had a great time, amazing activites, and la petit maison was the best, small but very comfortable and really handy. Ben made us feel very welcome and nothing was a bother for him!

A great stay, thank you. Chalet La Petitie Maison ticked all the boxes for us, plenty of room, near the slopes and town etc. It is only a 5 minute walk from Felix Ski where you can hire and store skis/boots, and then walk through the back of the shop for direct access to a drag lift and small descent to the Pleney Lifts. Just one downside to the chalet - upstairs was hot and a bit stuffy. A roof window added would give it a score of 100% perfect, even a fan would help! Hope to see you next year and thanks again.

What a lovely little property, ideally located within 5 minutes walk to the pleney lift and 10 minutes from the town centre shops. We were a family of 4 adults and one infant and had a great time living in the property. Interior was warm, comfortable and clean. Although ski conditions didn't allow us to ski back to the property, with more snow you could quite easily ski virtually back to la petite maison from a blue run. There was one WC and a separate shower, both on the ground floor - and were fine. A padlocked box outside allowed storage of ski equipment, which was handy. The only issue we had with the property was the low ceilings on the first floor - it was quite easy to accidentally bump your head especially in the middle of the night! Thanks must go to Ben, for being efficient, reliable and friendly - he was willing to help and went the extra mile to ensure our well-being.

La Petite Maison was a lovely place to stay for a week's skiing. Handy for the slopes, with excellent heating, drying and showering facilities, it gave us a lot more space and comfort than our usual tiny appartments. The rafters upstairs are quite low so we suffered a few bangs on the head before we got used to keeping a low profile, but that was a small price to pay for the charm and warm welcome of this beautiful little chalet. Although the walk to the shops for bread and other provisions takes a few minutes, Morzine is such a lovely village that it added to our holiday to live right in the midst of a real little community rather than a purpose-built ski development.

On arrival in Morzine we phoned Steve who came to meet us and show us to the chalet. La Petite Maison is extremely well located a short walk from the main town. The chalet was spot on! There are five in our family and the chalet had plenty of space for our requirements. We found the heating to be good and all nececessary facilities provided. The welcome food basket was much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the chalet to others and Steve was extremely helpful, especially with local knowledge, unfortunately he could not help with the weather which could have been better!
