About the home

Le Chant du Nant is a one hundred year old Savoyard farmhouse situated in the picturesque village of Le Biot within the Portes du Soleil region of the French Alps and offers wonderful holidays all year round.

The ground floor rental accommodation comprises of 110sqm of living space. With it's large rooms, beautiful garden and mountain scenery, it offers comfort & relaxation. Outside there is a south-facing terrace, BBQ, table & chairs, private parking and double garage plus plenty of secure storage for bikes & skis.

All fixtures and fittings are of a high standard for your comfort. The rooms are large and spacious and very tastefully decorated.

There are local sports facilities including; tennis court, football pitch, basketball and boules court, all within a five minute walk. In Morzine itself, there are wonderful sports facilities including; indoor and outdoor swimming pools, kids pool with water slide(open summer season only), ice-skating, skateboard and adventure park, summer luge plus many others.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

The Rhone/French Alps offer great holidays all year round. From skiing and snowboarding, to cycling and climbing. The Winter season has some of the best ski resorts in Europe including Morzine-Avoriaz, Les Gets and Chatel. There are also the smaller ski resorts of La Grande Terche and Drouzin le Mont less than 5km away.
Summer offers great mountain biking and in 2004, Les Gets held the World Championships. There is also white-water-rafting, paragliding and hiking, plus plenty of other outdoor activities for all the family.

The Morzine area

Local places to visit are Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz for skiing, snowboarding and winter paragliding. In the Summer these places offer mountain biking, paragliding, golf, rock climbing, swimming, fishing and many more activities for all the family.

There are also the lovely towns of Evian and Yvoire on the shores of Lake Geneva, only 30 mins drive away. Other places of interest are Chamonix, Mont Blanc and Annecy which are all within an hours drive.

We are only 1 hour from Geneva airport where cheap flights are available from Easyjet and BA. There are plenty of car hire outlets within Geneva airport.

Alternatively, if driving, we are approximately 8-9 hours from Calais via the autoroutes.

“Marvellous location, home and welcome for all the family , great for skiers and non skiers” We spent Christmas there and had a long list of must haves for each family member and also our two dogs !, Leslie and Martin and the Chant du Nant met all our wishes. We were so pleased to experience a warm and friendly welcome with log fire , provisions and Christmas tree and we all enjoyed throughout the stay a very comfortable chalet and welcoming hosts and community. The skiing was great at St Jean and also Morzine/Avoriaz was within easy reach and the surrounding area excellent for walking and relaxation for the non skiers. Thank you Leslie and Martin for helping to provide a Christmas to remember for all our family .

“Home from Home” Le Chant du Nant is an excellent holiday home which really feels like your own home from day 1. Lesley and Martin are very friendly and make you feel welcome. It is a 20 minute drive to ski slopes in Morzine (there are runs closer). Village of Le Biot is lovely and the supermarket is only a short drive away. The house has everything you could need including a log fire and a great sauna.

Situated in beautifull area with great walks The garden in comfortable, has beautifull views and peacefull The host are friendlt and generous

“A very comfortable ,clean,and spacious rental, with a great sauna, woodfire and all mod cons.” This rental is in a beautiful setting and is a very cosy, comfortable place to enjoy a skiing holiday.The drive to excellent skiing is short and very accessible with free parking.The property is well equipped with all mod cons and very comfy beds! We enjoyed the sauna and the wood fire with a plentiful supply of firewood. It was below freezing when we stayed but it was very warm with the heating alone and the fire was an added bonus in the evening. The drying room for ski kit worked well and there was easy parking.Lesley and Martyn were welcoming but not intrusive and available had there been any problems.The wi-fi ensured our eldest teenager could continue to study in the conducive quiet while we were skiing!.We would visit again summer or winter.

“Fantastic accomodation, comfortable, spacious - a home away from home!” We booked Lesley and Martins accomodation for a skiing break. the accomodation was excellent and Lesley very kindly ensured we had everything we needed to ensure our stay was very comfortable (inlcuding lighting the log fire for our return home on the first evening!). As it was in the minus 20's this was very welcome! The chalet is so close to a number of skiing resorts which gave us a great choice. We all had such a lovely break and look forward to our next holiday in this wonderful chalet. we will have no hesitation in recommending this accomodation to our friends and relatives. Thank you Lesley and Martin!

“The Perfect Family Ski Chalet For Christmas & New Year” Le Chant du Nant is a beautifully restored traditional chalet in Le Biot, close to Morzine. It is simply outstanding; cozy, characterful and very spacious. As a family of four, we had everything we needed for a fabulous Christmas Skiing holiday, complete with log fires and Christmas Tree! The owners are on hand if needed but the chalet itself is quite separate and private from their accomodation. The skiing in the Portes Du Soleil is so vast and varied; there is something for everyone. We loved the wide open tree lined pistes down to Morzine and the 'Les Linderets' area near Avoriaz.. This chalet is a real gem!

“Ideal accomodation in an ideal location.” We visited Le Chant du Nant in Autumn 2010. Le Biot is ideally located for Winter or Summer vacations. Thonon and Evian offered us splendid days out at Lac Leman and trips around the adjoiniong Alps to Chamonix, Chatel and Switzerland made it a most memorable stay. The accomodation was ideal for our requirements (4 adults) with every necessary facility, situated in a most peaceful village location, ideally secluded and peaceful. We were greeted most warmly by our hosts and instantly felt at home and at ease with all aspects of our chosen accomodation. It is our intention to re-visit at the very earliest opportunity and would thoroughly recommend it as an absolutely ideal self catering holiday location, Winter or Summer.

“Beautiful, spacious yet cosy home from home” We have just spent a very enjoyable week at Le Chant du Nant. Having seen the photos prior to going I had a very good feeling about our stay there and we were certainly not disappointed. It surpassed our expectations and is a real home from home. The warm welcome on arrival and the wine and substantial supplies in the fridge were most appreciated and show the thoughfulness and kindness of the owners, Debbie and Martyn. We received very helpful advice on good places to visit , walks from the doorstep,lakeside beaches and the " multipass " which is extremely good value at 1 euro per person per day and covers an array of activities such as swimming, ice skating, the cable cars and entrance to certain places and also tennis. There is a tennis court just round the corner. The boys really enjoyed the summer luge in Morzine and the kayaking on the lake. We all enjoyed our stay at Le Chant du Nant and would have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends and family. Thank you to Debbie and Martyn for your kind hospitality.
