About the home

The prices of La Ferme d'Elie are very reasonable, and the owner is happy to include airport transfers as part of the deal if you require them.

Before last year, Le Ferme d'Elie was slightly ruinous farmhouse above Morzine. The owners lifted the ancient traditional wood frame completely and built a modern Chalet designed and fitted to the highest standards underneath it. The majority of the wood in the Chalet is from the original structure, but they have added large, luxurious bathrooms, a second lounge room in the mezzanine area and modern luxurious features like underfloor heating.

The thing that surprises most people about La Ferme d'Elie is how much space is allocated to each person. Most of the bedrooms feature balconies to take fresh air in privacy, and the rooms and bathrooms are large and spacious, especially compared to the size of rooms in most Chalets! The floor plan allows you room to move in your bedrooms, being able to get around the beds and storage space to put things out of the way during your stay.

The Chalet hosts of La Ferme d'Elie have many seasons of experience. They're quite happy to act as ski guides for you, and will also include a complimentary CD of your holiday's photos taken when they do.
Rooms are sold as half-board. This means your cooked breakfast will be prepared in the Chalet by your own chef in the morning, and they will have a light afternoon tea waiting for you when you return from the slopes. Later when you've had time to unwind, a four course meal will be served in the Chalet's dining room, served at your own pace and with wine. Children's meals or special dietary requirements can easily be accommodated by the charming hosts.

The French Alps are those parts of the Alps mountain range which lie in France. They are within the regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur and Rhône-Alpes.

La Ferme d'Elie is located on the Montriond road from Morzine. It is exactly 500m from the footbridge of Morzine that leads directly to the Super Morzine cable car. The operators of the Chalet have a minibus and are happy to drop people at various ski lifts at pre-arranged times in the morning and evening. If you want to set your own pace for the day, the ski bus stops just 15m from the Chalet itself, so you can use that to access any of the numerous lifts in the area.

The Morzine area

Situated mid-way between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, Morzine is stunning for Alpine scenery, nestled between forests and summits. Here life is leisurely, and the village has lost nothing of its original charm and Savoyard way of life.

Ideally placed right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is the gateway to a marvellous winter playground of 650 km of ski-slopes. In summer, these slopes become sign-posted footpaths for trekking and MTB. Not forgetting the miles of open spaces surrounding the ski-runs from where you can head off into the middle of nowhere…

Either for a few days or a longer holiday, both idlers and sports fans will find everything they need for a real break with family or friends - everything for a perfect, peaceful and pleasurable holiday. Sharing, laughing, playing, discovering, with loads of thrills, fresh air, great food and views. You’ll have a ball!

The resort also has a bustling summer timetable including mountain biking, golf, walking and caving amongst others. It is rumored that total number of visitors is actually greater in the summer season. The municipal swimming pool is olymipic size and caters for the bustling tourist flock, but it immaculately maintained.

Air - The closest airport is Geneva, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away. There are frequent flights from the UK to Geneva with most major carriers. At Geneva Airport there are several car hire companies, alternatively we can arrange private transfers on your behalf.

Drive - The chalet-hotel is accessed via a decent road which is cleaned and snow-cleared 3-4 times a day during season.

Transfers to and from Geneva Airport are included in the price if you require them. There is no discount if you do not utilise the transfers offered.
