About the home

The chalet is located 75 minutes drive from Geneva Airport where there are many rental car companies. Alternatively we can organise private transfers for guests.

The atmosphere is friendly and informal, with an average of 14 to 24 both in Winter and Summer. Relax with friends around an open log fire after a delicious dinner prepared from fresh local produce by your hosts if you decide to take the Catered option which runs from 470€ don't forget the 10m Pool in Summer. We have also at Chalet Andu a Grand Apartment which sleeps 7 to 9 persons and is quite spacious.

The interior of Chalet Andu was renovated in 2007, and boasts an impressive dining area which leads via an oak paneled divide to the lounge area with corner open log fire.

The seating area is well appointed and comfortable which in turn leads directing into a pleasant bar area.

Your stay with us also allows you to relax in our swimming pool while looking at the mountain tops in summer! We also have a sauna which is located next to the pool. To help you relax those aching muscles' and new this season our Jaccuzi has proved a great success.

Chalet Andu is very spacious, and is arranged on 3 floors. Each bedroom is ensuite, and the chalet is an ideal venue for groups of friends or families. We cater for couples as well- So book now and look forward to your next winter or summer holiday.

Both our Hot Tub ( wonderful view of surrounding mountains ) and our 12 person Sauna are purpose built and situated in the grounds beside the 10 meter Pool. we are situated on the edge of the Village and it's therefore Ideal for Large groups wanting to do their own thing.

Inhouse transfers (self-catered guests) are available to and from the slopes. Cost is €40 per person per week (payable on arrival at the chalet) for daily transfers to the Super Morzine.

Checkin is normally from 1400hrs. Checkout is prior 1000hrs.

Linen is provided (catered & apartments). Please bring an extra towel if you plan on using the swimming pool or sauna.

All guests must have sufficient travel insurance.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Rhône-Alpes (Arpitan : Rôno-Arpes; Occitan: Ròse Aups) is one of the 26 regions of France, located on the eastern border of the country, towards the south. The region was named after the Rhône River and the Alps mountain range. Its capital, Lyon, is the second-largest metropolitan area in France after Paris.

Rhône-Alpes is located in the east of France. To the north are the French regions of Bourgogne (Burgundy) and Franche-Comté, to the west it borders the region Auvergne, to the south it borders Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The east of the region contains the western part of the Alps and borders Switzerland and Italy. The highest peak is Mont Blanc. The central part of the region is taken up with the valley of the Rhône and the Saône. The confluence of these two rivers is at Lyon. The western part of the region contains the start of the Massif Central mountain range. The region also borders or contains major lakes such as Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and Lake Annecy. The Ardèche is home to the deepest gorge in Europe.

As with the rest of France, French is the only official language of the region. 50 years ago, Arpitan was widely spoken in the whole region. Many of the inhabitants of the south spoke varieties of Occitan although it is in steep decline in this region. There were a relatively large immigrant populations from Poland, Italy, Portugal and North Africa, amongst other places.

The Morzine area

The chalet is situation on the outskirts of Essert-Romand, which is one of the first villages associated with the much sought after Morzine-Avoriaz location.

The local facilities include a large and modern Champion Supermarket, and numerous smaller supermarkets, and a weekly farmer's market. The local area provides many small businesses typical to the region, and Morzine-Avoriaz itself has much to offer.

The resort also has a bustling summer timetable including mountain biking, golf, walking and caving amongst others. It is rumored that total number of visitors is actually greater in the summer season. The municipal swimming pool is olymipic size and caters for the bustling tourist flock, but it immaculately maintained.

Skiing
Morzine-Avoriaz is the centre of the ski area and located approximately 10 minutes away by bus in season. Les Get is within easy access as well.
Wide open spaces, challenging ski-slopes and bump runs for those in search of an adrenalin rush. Deep snow for leaving tracks around a mountain chalet or through the trees…. Long slopes for practising wide turns, ideal for families and the very young to learn on.

From France to Switzerland, there is no end of pleasure to be had here.

Morzine
Morzine features restaurants and bars beyond count, and numerous high quality shopping areas. In winter it features an Olympic Skating rink as well. But it's main attraction is that it is a central and busy hub of the Porte Du Soleil skiing region.

The Port-Du-Soleil
The Porte-du-Soleil is the largest ski area in the world, featuring 650km of piste and considered to be superior to both Chamonix and the 3-Valleys. Further to this it features extensive off-piste facilities.

Chalet Andu is no more than 10 minutes from the first lift, which gives access to the whole 7 regions of the Porte-du-Soleil.

Air
The closest airport is Geneva, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away. There are frequent flights from the UK to Geneva with most major carriers. At Geneva Airport there are several car hire companies, alternatively we can arrange private transfers on your behalf.

Drive
The chalet-hotel is accessed via a decent road which is cleaned and snow-cleared 3-4 times a day during season.

This property is sold on a self-catered basis. These prices apply for all weeks between the 1st June 2011 and the 31st of August 2012. Multipass included for all summer guests. Prices quotes are for self-catered accommodation.

Payment can be made by VISA or MasterCard. Alternative payment methods by direct banking may be available by prior arrangement in Euros or Pound Sterling. Payments will be charged in EUROS at the rates above.

Flights & airport transfers are not included in the price.

Inhouse transfers are available to and from the slopes at a cost of 16€ per trip for an 8-seater bus to the Super Morzine or Pleney ski lifts. Alternatively a ski bus passes from end of our road for 1€ per person (Balad'Aulps Bus). Slope transfers are included for half-board guests.

Checkin is normally from 1700hrs. Checkout is at 1000hrs.
