About the home

Chalet La Salle is a characteristic Savoyarde farmhouse built circa 1840 which has been beautifully renovated and modernised. It is nestled in the quaint old alpine village of Essert-Romand only a few minutes drive to the vibrant Morzine town centre.

The apartment is spread over two floors and retains many of its original features. The spacious open plan layout of the living area reveals some of the magnificent beam structures and creates a charming light environment which also gives views of the surrounding mountains.

At Chalet La Salle you are spoilt for choice when it comes to accessing the Portes Du Soleil region, it is one of the largest Skiing, Snowboarding and Mountain Biking areas in the world with 207 lifts and 650km of marked pistes and plenty of Mountain Bike Trails. Morzine is renowned for being a popular family resort and here at Chalet La Salle we are best placed for accessing the wide variety of pistes and nursery slopes.

There is a bathroom on each floor, comprising of a bath with overhead shower, basin and toilet and the upper floor bathroom consists of a shower cubicle, basin and toilet. There is also storage space for skis and boots. We can arrange discounted airport transfers and ski hire which can be delivered and fitted at the apartment at a time to suit you. We can also do an essential shop for your arrival and arrange for fresh bread and croissants to be delivered daily. In order to avoid the queues we can arrange for your ski passes to be at the apartment ready for your arrival.

There are two balconies at either end of the apartment to catch either the early morning or afternoon sun. Parking is available immediately outside the apartment and a ski bus stop approximately 200m away.

Rental starts from 4pm and ends at 10am on day of departure. Luggage can be stored for late flights if prior arrangements are made.

All payments are made by International Bank Transfer in euros and a returnable Deposit Bond of £200 is required.

Morzine is a traditional savoyard town in the centre of the Portes du Soleil region. There is always plenty to do Summer or Winter from white water rafting, ferrata, mountain biking, swimming in the local pools and lakes to skiing, dog sledging, paragliding and even night sledging. Morzine is just bursting with activities.There are also many restaurants, cafes and bars and activities in the main town centre for the very young and the not so very young. If you are wishing to go further a field and explore there is the old town of Annecy, Mount Blanc and Lake Geneva all within easy reach of Morzine.

Chalet La Salle is situated in the Portes du Soleil ski area just a few minutes drive from the vibrant town centre and slopes of Morzine.

Driving

Morzine is about 20 miles off the main A40/E25 motorway to Chamonix/Mont Blanc tunnel, 550 miles from Calais and less than 9 hours drive from your crossing point. For the best route and stopover points on the way, visit the AA Route Planner Site for a junction by junction route map. It is also a good source of general nformation for your journey.

Train

There are regular train services from the French channel ports to Thonon or you can take the Eurostar to Paris or Lille and then TGV to Cluses (daily) or Thonon (Saturday and Sunday).

We can arrange a transfer from Cluses or Thonon to bring you to your accommodation. Just let us know your full travel details in advance.

There are several budget and scheduled airlines that have daily flights to Geneva, which is the nearest airport to the resort. Transfer time is approx 1hr 20 minutes, we can arrange transfers if required.
