Apartment | 5 bedrooms | sleeps 10
We think your first impression will be how airy and bright the apartment is, as it is the entire top floor of a modern block built in traditional alpine style. When your key operated lift opens directly into the apartment you'll see a lounge, kitchen and dining area to the right, and a further lounge area with TV to the left. We also hope you are immediately struck by the fabulous views across the river valley and forest to the mountains opposite the main balcony and living areas. Within 100 yards of the building's front door, there are plenty of local facilities, and a free Navette ski bus stops right outside the apartment.
Morzine and surrounding area is a brilliant summer destination too - for all the family. Ask us about the Portes de Soleil multi-pass - it offers visitors the chance to swim, play tennis, catch cable cars, ice-skate amongst other activities for only 1 euro per day. Our apartment is perfect for cycling groups. Bikes can be stored in our secure garages, and we have a cave on the floor below for dirty gear. If you want to venture into Morzine, it's a 20 minute walk along a level road to the town centre. We'll happily let you know our favourite bars and restaurants.

You’ll find a full information pack on the kitchen breakfast bar. We’ll send you a copy by email right now if you like. There will also be a welcome food pack in the kitchen in case you need a snack and drink to keep you going after your journey. Help yourself to anything that’s been left in the cupboards, fridge or freezer by previous guests – we tell our changeover team to leave anything non-perishable for the next guests to use. If your timing is good you shouldn’t have to buy staples like condiments, oil, pasta and rice. We always make sure there is tea and coffee available.
We are able to arrange for a chef to buy ingredients and prepare evening meals in the apartment for you if you'd rather relax after skiing than cook. You can pre-order your favourite dishes or leave it to the chef to suggest a menu! There's a supplementary charge of course, and that will depend on the number of courses you specify (and thus how long chef will be working for you). The ingredients are charged at cost and should be paid for in the resort as and when purchased. You don't need to make this an option for every day of your stay either if you don't wish to.
Here are a few key points about the apartment, all of which are covered in greater detail in the information pack.
The lift has a key you use to ensure only you can access the apartment directly. It doubles as the building entry key as well, so be careful not to drop it down the lift shaft. In an emergency we have keyholders in Montriond and Morzine.
With one exception, all doors and windows have electrically operated metal shutters. They’re very easy to use – each room has individual up and down controls.
All bed linen and two towels per person are provided. If spares are needed in case of spillages our local contact lives and works in the same building so can easily be contacted for replacements.
You should find plenty of plug adapters, although these do tend to go missing regularly – we think people forget to detach them when packing to go home. Please try to remember to return them to where you found them.
There is a satellite dish connection into the TV lounge. You need your own box and card.
There is a torch in the kitchen.
There is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
The five bedrooms are all good sizes with plenty of storage space.
The door alongside the lift is your emergency exit to the stairwell. Please ensure you leave the key on the hook next to the door where it is at all times - it's there in case of a power failure or emergency, when you should use the stairs rather than the lift.

There is a boules terrain in the square in front of the building, a full set of boules in the apartment, and instructions how to play in the info pack..
We’re very flexible on changeover days, duration of stay and number of guests. We take the view that we’d rather have our lovely second home used than it stand empty, so will always be willing to accommodate you at a sensible price if we can, whatever your plans. Many of our guests return year after year.
The Rhone/French Alps region
Rhone is ocated on the eastern border of the country, towards the south. The region was named after the Rhône River and the Alps mountain range. Its capital, Lyon, is the second-largest metropolitan area in France after Paris.
Primarily known for the excellence it offers winter sports lovers, Haute-Savoie is a wonderful summer destination too.
The Portes de Soleil is a ski area of 12 linked resorts. Of course, some resorts are better than others, but the huge variety and extent of runs available means there is plenty to maintain the interest and enthusiasm of all levels of skier and boarder, both on and aff piste. Avoriaz in particular is renowned too for its superb snowparks for the more adventurous.
For non-skiers, pedestrian passes can be bought to go up into the mountains, where there are paths for walkers. Ask in the tourist office. Visits to nearby towns and cities are other possibilities.
Morzine and Montriond are year round communities. Consequently, there are excellent sports facilities and restaurants whenever you might choose to visit. There's an excellent brand new indoor pool. In summer there is a massive open air swimming pool with landscaped grounds where you can spend a whole day. Plenty of tennis courts mean you should always be able to book at a convenient time. There’s ice-skating in Morzine Palais de Sports, and both mountain biking and road cycling are brilliantly catered for.
We love summer days out in the mountains or in the resorts lining the shores of Lake Geneva. In our view, no summer trip to this area is complete without a visit to Annecy (1¼ hours), which has its own impressive lake, and a splendid medieval old town..
Thonon (about 35 minutes by car), Evian (40 minutes) and Montreux (1 1/2 hours) are all alongside Lake Geneva.
