Chalet Le Coeur de Lion is unlike many of the modern, purpose built holiday homes in the area - it was constructed over 100 years ago and was one of first buildings in Montriond. The chalet is accessed through its own entrance way off a private garden area in Montriond, a beautiful little village on the outskirts of Morzine.
The chalet is location just a 50 metre walk from the nearest ski shuttle bus stop.
Our chalet has a large open plan family lounge, dining room and kitchen area on the first floor as well as a WC and laundry facilities. In total the chalet stretches over 200 m2. There is a large sunny terrace overlooking the stunning Morzine valley towards Nyon in one direction and Mont Chery in the other. The terrace also has dining furniture and a BBQ for those sunny winter afternoons. The large living room has a log burning fire to keep you warm as you watch the snow fall outside. On the second floor is a large double en-suite bedroom with a whirlpool bath and separate shower. There is another large double or twin bedroom and then a separate twin bedroom. A family bathroom built from a traditional Mazot is also on the second floor and includes a shower. Between the three bedrooms the chalet sleeps 6 people but there is also a sleeping area in an annex off the second floor lobby area and two sofa beds in the lounge.
The chalet includes cosy central heating throughout and in the kitchen there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and a dishwasher. There is a television in the lounge with UK Freeview satellite channels as well as a DVD player with a collection of family movies. There is also a Wii computer console with a selection of popular games too.

Our self catered holidays commence on a Saturday and usually last for 7 nights. If you'd like to enquire about a short break holiday in Chalet Le Coeur de Lion please do get in touch. We also offer self catered summer holidays too.
The Rhone/French Alps region
The Rhone Alps run across the boarder of France and Switzerland and stretch between the flat fields alongside Lake Geneva up to some of the highest mountains in Europe. Mont Blanc can be viewed from several peaks. The Portes du Soleil is the largest connected ski area in Europe, with 650km of piste and off-piste runs, 288 ski slopes, 3 freestyle parks and 209 ski lifts.
The enormous Portes du Soleil also covers 12 ski resorts across France and Switzerland with Morzine at the very heart of the ski network. The Portes du Soleil lift pass offers the best value for money in terms of its price and the area it covers when compared to all the other large ski areas in Europe.
Morzine and Montriond are great holiday locations during both the winter and summer months. The winter season starts in mid-December and the area usually benefits from an excellent snow record each winter. The resort is very family friendly and there are often lots of activities and events for children organised by the local tourist office.
Morzine also has a growing apres ski seen with live bands and DJ's on the terraces of the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the late afternoon and early evening. During the summer months Morzine hosts many festivals including the Tour de France and the Harley Davidson festival.
