We stayed at La Prise for 4 nights. We have found the welcome very warm and friendly. The unit was clean and comfortable. Would recommend this to anyone who wishes to have a quiet and relaxing retreat away from it all but still be close enough to bigger towns/cities. We would definitely go back when the chance present itself |

We stayed at La Prise Boulay during 1/2 term week in June and we had a truly memorable week. The cottage and gardens were stunning, we had a lovely welcome from Pauline who was also extremely helpful with local information; the wine, cheese and essentials were a great bonus! There was plenty to see and do in the area including the Grand Cascades waterfalls and Fosse Arthur and lots of funparks for the kids amusement. The sun shone all week and we didn't want to come home. |
Guestbook for La Prise Boulay
As the first guests at La Prise Boulay we thought the gite was comfortable and well equipped for our needs. Hosts Carol and Steve were great and have good knowledge of where to visit in the area. Mont St Michel is a must see, as is a shopping trip to Bagnoles de l'Orne. Will certainly be back for another visit. Karl and Imogene Williams, Liverpool
A fantastic stay in a beautiful cottage . Excellent facilities in a truly relaxing place. This is a true credit to the hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Julie and John Harrison. Doncaster
A totally relaxing home from home experience. We enjoyed watching the transformation to what is a beautiful house with a fabulous garden view. Thank you for sharing this with us. Dave and Cheryl
Had a really lovely holiday, cottage is beautiful, very well renovated. Lovely to see the photographs of the renovation. Thank you and hope you have lots more bookings! Heather and Stuart Jones
A very warm welcome from Carol and Steve. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the peaceful countryside. Our bike rides on the empty roads and through the forest tracks were wonderful. The community walk from Ger was fun. A lovely spot! William and Geraldine Deans. Cheltenham
We have really enjoyed our stay here. Its less like a gite and more like a real home. We appreciated the "essentials" in the fridge and the cleaning stuff etc. We particularly enjoyed the wine - Thank you! The area is great - easy to drive around and La Fosse Arthour, Domfront and Mortain - well worth a visit. Visit Poppys tea rooms in Montchamps and ask for directions to her husbands WW2 museum - Brilliant! The photos of the renovation are great - we really enjoyed seeing the transformation. Tina, Andrew and Horace. Brighton
We had a lovely time here and enjoyed the beautiful views and the fresh air. The local towns are really pretty and the D Day landing sites within easy reach. In particular we would like to say we were very well looked after by Pauline. Thanks for a lovely stay. Cheng-Han Wu, Szu-Lan Chao.
Beautiful house, relaxing time! Thanks to Pauline - there when needed. Look forward to coming back. Andy and Judy Rosser. Exeter.
We are here on a working holiday renovating our own home. Following stays at previous gites it is a pleasure to finally be able to get warm! Warm in the lounge, bedrooms and showers. Cannot be recommended highly enough. Gite feels more like a home and Pauline is a very welcoming host. We will be back. Sam and Tracy. Kythe. Kent.
We came here for peace and quiet and were not disappointed. Fantastic house, lovely location. Pauline was very helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you Deb Hinds. Blackpool
OMG! What a fantastic place! I could not believe it when we pulled up. Your house is divine and I instantly felt at home> The bed "ate" me a few times but the great shower woke me up. Pauline was a very pleasant face to see at gone 9pm, very nice lady, very helpful and to be greeted with wine is my idea of heaven. Thank you. Nic
We have had a thoroughly relaxing time at La Prise Boulay - the weather was fabulous. The house really is exceptional, although with only two of us there has been loads of room, so plenty of room for larger parties also.
Dena and Dave. Preston
The photos on the internet dont do this place justice. Its absolutely beautiful. I love the little touches, especially the "mouse" on the landing. That caused quite a scare I can tell you!! Its very homely and a great place to relax. Pauline is a very nice lady and has been a great help. Hope to be back. Malc and Hilary. Chesterfield.
Everything a gite should be, perfect location, lovely scenery, excellent facilities. The French neighbours are very pleasant and friendly. Irvine and Joan. Cheadle.
We have had a lovely holiday here. A stunning renovation in lovely surroundings. Great hospitality on arrival. Highlights of the week - Alligator Park, Champ zoo, Bellafontaine Park, Granville and Bagnoles sur L'Orne. (Dont get in boat 3 as we got stranded in the middle of the lake!) Clare, Jon, Joel, Anya and Rosa, Notts
We have had such a lovely week. Dont want to leave this lovely, homely gite. Many thanks for the provisions provided. Neil and Ellen, our friens arrived on the 20th and think the place is fantastic. We will be back in the future. Dave and Maggie Brown.
We have really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. We have a 2 year old little boy and found the house very child friendly and the garden area very safe. Thanks for such a lovely holiday. Eamon, Denise, Breda and little Eamon. Wexford,
Another wonderful stay in your lovely cottage. Its as lovely in Winter as in Summer with he glorious log fire. We just stayed in and had a lovely rest. Thanks to Phil, Paulines husband for making sure we were ok. Sorry to have missed seeing Pauline, perhaps next time. Malc and Hilary.
We have had a lovely 5 days exploring Normandy. The weather has been very cold, but had lovely frosty mornings and a great view from the windowseat. The log burner has been well used. The welcome supplies were a lovely touch. Well done on your renovation, its a lovely gite. Mark, Clare, Charle and Ollie.
