About the home

You will find the self contained accommodation light & spacious, in a secluded, countryside setting with private orchard garden and patio, situated in the heart of 6 acres giving plenty of safe playing areas for children. There are also some friendly goats, donkeys and chickens on site!
This is an independant gite adjoining the caretakers' family home. Rated 4**** by French Office de Tourism.
Fully equipped to high standard with all home comforts, Traditional features, and a view from every window, add to the charm. The accommodation is available all year round to make the most of the wonderful surrounding area.

Beautiful scenery, walking/cycling picnic lakes in close proximity. Good touring base to visit & explore the many historic market towns and places of interest and the coast, or choose to relax in our countryside retreat and enjoy the garden.You will find many tourist information leaflets in the accommodation to help you choose your favourite pastimes. The accommodation and local area offer beautiful surroundings and scenery with a wide choice of things to do. Help & assistance always available along with a friendly welcome.

La Ransonniere de Bas is furnished to a high standard, French doors open onto the garden or patio, front and rear.
The living accommodation is light and airy with a view from every window.
Originally the house was a small farm and traditionally built of granite, the exposed beams retain the farmhouse feel. It is surrounded by it's own fields for privacy and tranquility.

The Normandy / Manche region

Beautiful countryside and historic towns and villages. Famous for butter, cream, cheese, cider and calvodos, Crepes/galettes. Trips to Jersey/Guernsey available from St Malo and Granville. Usually a pleasant climate with hot summers. Plenty fresh air! Normandy has many memorials dedicated to WW2 and the resistance. Normandy is renowned for the best seafood in France.

The Mortain / Romagny area

Mortain has heated outdoor swimming pools with a view, and play area. a Saturday market and shops/bars and restaurants,
The aincient Abbaye blance is opposite the Grande Cascade waterfall and Petite Cascade pic nic area. Mt St Michel can be seen from a view point at La Petite Chapelle. Many walks/cycle tracks. Domfront is 23km away a medieval town, Bagnoles de l'Orne has a beautiful park and Casino, shops and creperies. Chateaux and lakes can be visited along with flower gardens. The national "Haras" at ST Lo breeds horses and has displays throughout the summer. The coast is around 1 hour to lovely beaches and seafood restaurants. Bellefontaine children's park is nearby. Pic nic lake nearby with play area. Cycle track and go karting nearby.
