Chemin des Sternes is a 300 year old fisherman's cottage at the stunning majestic port of Mortagne sur Gironde. With all restaurants, bars, shops at only a few steps away. Close to several fabulous beaches. Luxury accommodation, superb kitchen, comfortable sitting/dining room. Terrace for eating and sunbathing.
This delightful cottage is beautifully furnished to a high standard with many pictures, cushions, books. The beds are new and of a high standard, all made up with duvets, sheets & towels for your arrival.
There are tennis courts in the village of Mortagne sur Gironde a swimming pool, in Cozes and many activities for the children on the beach including 'Micky Clubs' which have swimming pools, where you may leave children under supervision. The port of Mortagne has a lovely water edge park and many grassy seating area's ideal for picnics all only a few strides away from the cottage.
The beach at St.Georges de Didonne only a few minutes drive.

Mortagne sur Gironde with its colourful twice weekly market, is a beautiful yacht marina close to Royan. The region is famous for Cognac and Pineau with free tastings offered at the weekly market or at the wine Chateaux as you drive around. The market and restaurants, have all sea foods available. This micro climate has 2800 hours of sunshine per year this is official! Ideal for families and couples as everything is on the doorstep. Ideal for children as there are so many activities at the beaches close by.. There are beach hoppers, sail boats, surf boards, bikes all for hire. There is a boat daily to the Medoc area from Royan which is famous for its wine. Visit the Bordeaux wine chateaux and their vineyards. Bordeaux only one hour.The famous Zoo La Palmyre, also La Rochelle with its wonderful port and aquarium at 40 minutes drive away.
Mortagne sur Gironde area
A little further inland you have the ancient city of Saintes (30 min drive), situated on the river with its cathedral, abbey and quaint streets and chic shops and restaurants. The Charente & Dordogne with fabulous scenery and Chateaux are also at only one hours drive away, details of all visits are in the apartment. There is a church in the village. There are spectaculars all summer in the village which are interesting for adults and children alike.
How to get there
Fly to La Rochelle or Bordeaux train to Royan and taxi to Mortagne sur Gironde. Car hire is available please ask us about it.

Each bedroom has bedside tables, table lamps, dressing tables and mirrors, the master bedroom has a king-size bed, and an en suite shower/wash basin & w.c. The second larger bedroom includes a wardrobe chest of drawers, twin beds and a third bed which pulls out from one of the beds. All are new spring interiors and are full size.
The second bedroom has its own shower/wash basin/w.c. (this shower room is on the ground floor) Both bedrooms have ceiling fans. The large beautifully fitted kitchen with an island has a gas hob, electric oven, dish washer, large 'fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer.
With opening double glazed windows in every room including the kitchen. The living/dining room has a dining set, sofa, and comfortable chairs leading to an outside area with table, chairs, parasol . You are only two minutes from the marina with its spectacular yachts. There is plenty of parking near to the cottage. There is a park at only a few meters from the cottage, for children to play and to sunbathe or enjoy a picnic.
Further details outdoors: The cottage is only 15 minutes to fabulous sandy beaches, there is a parasol and a fitted out cold bag provided, for picnics. It is situated at the marina/port of Mortagne sur Gironde with all restaurants, cafes, bars set out on terraces to watch the world go by, shops, which sell everything you need, a chemist, doctor etc. Although there is no garden at the cottage there are pots of flowers and a climbing rose , a space with a table chairs parasol and 2 chairs. Chemin des Sternes is the only cottage on the chemin so very quiet for relaxing out of doors.

Mortagne sur Gironde is a lively village all the year round , so suitable for out of season breaks, including weekends. If interested please contact us, we are only an email or phone call away.
Conditions
The cottage is ideal for couples or families. Children are accepted but parents must respect the lovely furnishings and fittings. Non smokers only please. Pets are not allowed. On booking we ask for a deposit of 30% of the total cost, the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival date. We do send you a booking form. When you arrive you pay 50 € for mopping-up clean Wc - bathroom : shower bath- remove the dirty sheets, house hold gadgets = wash tile-flooring.The cottage must be so clean than when you arrive.
